Has anyone sculpted a simbot?
« on: March 29, 2011, 11:46:52 PM »
My sim made a simbot through inventing and has gotten a wish to sculpt him a couple times. But when I do a sculpture of him there is nothing there but the base for the statue. He still gets credit for the wish tho.

So I was wondering if a simbot just can't be sculpted or if it's a bug on my end.

That happens sometimes and like you said, it is still counted as a sculpture.  When they do ice sculptures and it is a disc or that other weird figure, it still counts as a sculpture too.  Don't know why it happens, but sometimes in real life things are not always as they seem either.  I don't think it is a bug, it just happens. :)

That's weird. So a simbot ice sculpture isn't possible? I wonder how this will be when you make a simbot from stone.
Yeah, metal is the only one that will work I know, but that isn't sculpting your 'real' simbot.

On occasion, my sim ice sculptures will occasionally turn into exactly what you describe.  I'm not sure what happens, but I've had to exit without saving a couple times in the course of dynasties because of it.

I've tried to sculpt the simbot several times without any success.
But I have also noticed every time I try to sculpt the simbot when he poses the sculpting process gets cancelled so my sim can have the It's a Simbot reaction then the block of ice appears on the sculpting station.

If I continue with the sculpture I just get the base plate for the sculpture. If I cancel it and try again he just has the It's a Simbot reaction again.

So maybe the problem is that the simbot really never gets to pose for the sculpture because my sim always freaks over it being a simbot.

Maybe I am just lucky, but one of my Sims (the only one that had a SimBot) managed to sculpt her SimBot child 3 times in a row without a single problem. And the sculptures turned out like they do normally: a SimBot pose.

At least I know it is possible to sculpt a simbot now.
What traits did your sim have? Just wondering if that might have something to do with it.
Like if he was brave or something it might keep him from reacting to the simbot so bad.

Sorry, can't exactly say which she had at the moment because her traits were being changed often. The SimBot was her invention, and Make Needs Static cheat was turned on.
