Sims Medieval Guide News
« on: March 29, 2011, 05:28:58 PM »
I put up some of the content we've completed for The Sims Medieval Guide so interested members can have a peek at what we're cooking up. I won't be adding any more new pages until the launch Sunday, which will greatly expand the list of available guides. Afterward, we'll be adding to it gradually. I expect almost everything to be done by May 1, aside from the Quest pages, which will take a lot of time.

For now we have:
Core Concepts
Sims Medieval Cheats Console and Testing Cheats (debug)
Kingdom Aspects
Foreign Lands and Edits/Patrols
Quests Guide
Traits and Fatal Flaws

Hero Guides:
Bard
Physician
Merchant
Knight
Jacoban Priest
Spy
Blacksmith
Peteran Priest Guide
Wizard
Monarch

Carl, that looks great! I design the website for my husband so I know that sometimes its really tough to make a webpage look good :)

I really appreciate all the time and effort you've put in to making such a usefull site! I can't tell you how many times I've needed an answer on my Sims 3 game and found it on your site. I'm really excited to see all the great information you are collecting. I find it funny that almost everytime I've had a question about TSM I can't find the answer in the Prima Guide, but if I come to the forum someone else has usually posted an answer. I really enjoy the content of your guides and the helpfulness and friendliness of the people on the forum, so thanks!

Metro sent me the article for Monarchs, so I couldn't help it but publish it. Probably throwing that whole "launch" thing out the window and plastering them up as soon as they come. It could be weeks before google finds them and, of course, one of our objectives here is to help the masse. It's just too exciting to get to publish again!  :o

Thanks Carl I will read when I get home! Nosing through quickly I saw this:-

Quote from:  Core Concepts
Ambitions
When you begin a new Kingdom, you’ll first need to select a Kingdom Ambition. There are 12 to choose from. If you’re firing the game up for the first time, then you have no choice but to start with the [i ] New Beginnings [/i] Ambition because only by completing it will you unlock more Ambitions.

So far it looks great!  Kudos to you, Tom and Pam - I know your TSM site is going to be another one of my favorite places to spend time online.

I just added Blacksmith. Tomorrow I will go back and add to that page and the Wizard. Both have tables that need info. More so on the smith. There's just too much to craft! Let me know if you have something that I do not, as I want to eventually make it an all-inclusive list.

Lol. I went through the Guide and now I want to be a Blacksmith when my game arrives! (Better be today or the Postman better start running!)

Also Is it supposed to say Merchant here?

Quote
Earning Money as a Blacksmith
Blacksmiths are one of the more limited hero professions in their means of money making. They don't get any exploration options other than to take a stroll through the forest. That's not to say they're poor at it. In fact, Blacksmith can be one of the most profitable classes in the game. If you sell a piece of crafted equipment through the inventory, it's often worth more than the materials used in the recipe to make it. Like the Merchat, they can open a shop outside their store to hawk their wares. This is helpful for making money, but not entirely necessary. Most of the time, the payoff isn't as great as spending the extra time forging new gear and selling it through the inventory panel. You can sell off excess minerals to make some extra change.

Sorry if all these corrections are annoying!  :)

Lol. Yeah it was. A few people caught that one. I resolve to use openoffice for its built-in spell checker from now on ;)

The Quest List is under development. It will be announced upon competion on the forum. Check back later to get more information. We will gradually fill out the list with links to individual pages that will offer tips to completing all Quests and detail the rewards for various ratings and approaches.

Shouldn't that be completion? (It's on the Quest List)

Job well done so far, despite minor typos.  Read them all and now am interested in giving a wizard a whirl.

Thank you for this guide. I was totally confused by anything in-game at first, but the guide helped me a lot. Best. Ever.
