I swear my Physician had to do something similar.

I won't be working on the guide for a day or two. I've been almost non-stop since getting back from Tom's and the brain needs a rest. I think he's going to write a guide to the Bard in the meantime.

We have some quest prototypes that aren't linked yet : First Steps and Fisherman's Challenge

Let me know if you have any suggestions about improving them, as we have to do about 66 of these and I don't want an "Oh DUH!" moment on #50 because I missed something important in the structure.

For quests with multiple approaches, will they be separate pages or on a single page?

Showing Primary, Secondary and Supporting Heroes separately would be useful I think

Also for completeness sake maybe show QP cost.

I promised a list of where all the herbs were but after tracking them down it's really pretty simple.  All the herbs can be found on, or very close to, the plateau where the churches are!  There are 4 sage plants, 2 angel weed, nightshade (4 of them in the general area), and sage, (4), as well as the more common belladonna.  Look around water for Lord Leaf.  The area around the lighthouse has one sage, one Lordleaf and a few other minor herbs.  The area where the training ground is has one angel leaf and two nightshade.  It's harder to find the herbs in the Town Square area but back by the walls there is ONE angel weed and one sage.  Not worth the time in my opinion.
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

You're right, Joria, given the fast spawning times. I'll instead just make a listing like you've given me with some shots of delectable patches. Sounds like an herb page that would get me by!

Just an update on the Magical Tune and Vanish spells and a big thank you to Missa for solving my broomstick problem... thank you  ;D

The Wizard was only able to cast the Magical Tune spell whilst the Bard was performing a song on the lute.  The Vanish spell was actioned by clicking on the ground, not on the Wizard.  The Bard had a +20 Captivated Buff when I clicked on her. I couldn't see that casting those two spells made any difference to the Wizard's Buffs.

I've had a look at the Quest prototypes.  I wondered about including the cost in QP in the table at the top, rather than in the main text?  Maybe next to the Requirements that currently shows only the Hero necessary to complete the Quest.

The top of the Fisherman's table just says Approach Name and Requirements. Wasn't too sure what that meant. When I checked with the First Steps Quest table, it made me think that Approach Name referred to the Ambition that the Quest was available in and that requirements was the Hero(s) available to do the Quest - but, as you can tell, I'm a bit confused.

Another suggestion (but I'm not sure if it is a good idea or not) is to colour the background of one line of the table - eg the first line - the background colour could indicate the degree of difficulty of the task in the same way that the game itself does.  In otherwords, green for easy, yellow for moderate and red for more difficult - rather than showing the difficulty, (unboxed), below the table.

Update on Random encounters:

Forest:

Finding a Bear
A meadow of Belladona
Buying Books
Rescuing Children
Catching a Chinchilla
Spying on Elves
Finding a injured Merchant
Helping a Pixie
The Sping of youth
Spotting a Unicorn

Forest: (Hunt only)

Stepping in a hole
Rustling in the bush

Village Shoppe:

Finding a beggar
Helping a Child
Buying Churdles Potion
Obtaining Herb
Attacked by Hoods
Buying a Lute
Mob an Elf girl
Mother being Mugged
Make a Wager
Buying a Book (Same as forest)

Patrolling the Sea:

Attack Pirates
Find an Island
Spot a Mermaid
Find some Treasure

The Pitt:

Roll away
Run and Hide

As before, I have begun to upload screenshots with the choice and possible outcomes to the following link:

http://img577.imageshack.us/g/bushoptions.jpg/

I don't have every outcome yet, but I'm constantly updating the images.

Also, it seems that the encounters in the pit may be limited to once per hero, (once per kingdom even?) and after jumping into the pitt so many times you begin to get love hearts pouring out of the pitt when you jump in instead of it attacking you.

Don't you guys like music? :( anyway Carl I saw that you are still working for the bard's guide so I think I can help with that if you need it. First the bard I think is the fastest and easiest to level hero since you can play the lute anywhere and also gives you a lot of xp. Secondly inspiration can be gained anywhere for the responsibilities you get. I think I can make a list of what inspirations you get in the different places in sims medieval (if you need this let me know). In terms of traits I think fun-loving is the best for him since that goes up fast enough if you keep playing and as a fatal flaw I think drunkard would be the best choice since you live in the tavern where there is always something to drink (duh! :D) just give him 2 drinks for +20 buff up (not 3 because then you become a sad drunk which is obviously a negative buff ;D) and as a second good trait devoted I think it's good in every hero because going for the third responsibility will bump up your xp and mood. Also I think I can help with all the responsibilities for the bard just let me know if you need my help  :)

Not sure why but I've had trouble getting the Medieval Guide pages to load.  Wonder if Carl is working on it at the moment?  To display the content on the page, I've had to press 'refresh' twice.  Not had this problem before now.

Daily Responsibilities:

There's an additional Knight Daily Responsibility: Practice on Training Dummy for 2 Hours.

I've just double-checked the Physician and, for some reason, the text on two of the DRs uses the word 'people', rather than 'sims': as in, 'Medicate 2 People on the Operating Table' and 'Give First Aid to 2 People', however, it is 'Diagnose 2 Sims'.  Guess the writer had a blip. :D

Need buffs for various recipes in the Cooking Guide

Here are some of the buffs for cooking:

Spit
Roast Rat - Adequate Meal - no focus effect
Roasted Pigeon - Palatable Meal - 10fp
Roasted Rabbit - Palatable Meal - 10fp
Roasted Salmon - Flavourful Meal - 15fp
Roasted Turbot - Flavourful Meal - 15fp
Roast Bear - Delightful Meal - 20fp

Oven
Flat Bread - Tasteless Treat - no focus effect
Broiled Pigeon - Tasty Treat - 20fp
Broiled Frog - Succulent Treat - 40fp
Broiled Turbot - Succulent Treat - 40fp

The current article you have for Fatal Flaws is missing a little detail under Insecure: Your sim will occasionally wake up with a "Nervous Wreak" negative moodlet that is -10 to focus for 5 hours.

Are you using google chrome? That could be a related problem I've had. I think I got it cleared up for now. If it happens you can confirm it's the same bug by clicking Restore DOwn right next to close in the top right. It'll re-draw the page. I've had a bug report up on google chrome support for a while now. No one has come up with a fix for me just yet. They tell me that it's fixed in the latest developer release so it'll fix itself when that version of Chrome comes out of beta. For now, I think I've got it patched up properly. Let me know.

Also, yeah, MrGabic, Metro is working on Bard and I'll have it up tomorrow. I'll make sure your tips are included in the page :)

The spit recipe Seasoned Boar Meat (large) gives the "Ambrosial Meal" moodlet which is +25 to focus for 12 hours.

The wine recipe Hypocras gives the "Wine Divine" moodlet which is +20 to focus for 4 hours. That lasts twice as long as any other drink recipe I've seen. This is in addition to your usual "Tipsy" or "Buzzed" moodlets you get from drinking any alcoholic beverage.

The other drink recipe I tested was Honey Mead which gave a moodlet worth +40 focus, but it only lasts 2 hours. I personally don't like short moodlets like that because it means whenever your hero has to go to any destination beyond wherever the casket you brewed the drink is at, the buff usually wears off before you even get there.

Great Carl I'm looking forward to it I want to see if I missed something. Great guide by the way I didn't quite read it all because I mostly like to learn things on my own but I did took a peek or two and it's very detailed and well explained. Good job.  :)

Bard has been uploaded. Gonna go through this thread now and add any information for existing pages.
