I put information about Heat in the Blacksmith Guide that I'd like to have checked. Also, I'm nowhere near having all the smithing items on that list.
This information has been helpful guys. I think next will be some clean up on the pages I've published, then a guide to Edicts and Kingdom Aspects.
Stampercat: That's helpful. I've noticed that cooking on a spit is the best way to go for the duration of the buffs is over twice as long.
Ponders - I don't quite agree from my observations/assumptions.
(a) The hammer and hammer quality will also allow for MORE errors - when I forge a longsword with hammer A hovering over the quality bar will give a popup that my current quality is legendary which will drop in 2 mistakes, equipping hammer B the popup reads that my quality is legendary and will drop after 4 errors. So the hammer adds extra error margain too.
(b) The red bar at the top of the quality bar is, as you say, the legendary area but its size also tells you how many errors you can make before the item drops in quality. With some icons (like Anglehammer) the red bar goes a long way with 12 or more errors you can make before the quality drops but with other items it is very small and quality will drop after 1 - 4 errors. The 1 error things are especially pesky when the apprentice is also around because then the coal life issue comes into play and it is wise to restock on coal while the item is somewhere in the middle of the heat bar so it is assured it won't drop into blue while you restock and reheat the coal.
I usually work on long term items when the apprentice is doing something else just to make sure there is no interference.
