One thing I found, if you sit down with a drink you can call over any Sim in the Kingdom to come to your current place. Need to make a delivery and the Sim is on the other side of the Kingdom? Just fetch a drink from the barrel, sit down somewhere and interact with any Sim to have them come to you. If the King wants something from me I let him come to me. :)

I just now put up an Announcement. For now, the only way I'm seeking information is through this topic and reading posts here on the forum. There is some data I'm looking for, namely the focus buffs for all food items in the game. I'll get to that, but right now my attention lies on the gateway pages to make a foundation for the real content, and completing all of the Hero Guides which I plan to write myself, although Metro is doing Monarch and I'm offering Pam the opportunity to pick one.

I will undoubtedly be expanding the list of questions in the first post of this topic. I'm glad some of the answers have already come in, and I even got more than I asked for in some cases. This will save me a lot of time.

Here's a little bit more for you Carl

Starting Salaries (remaining):
Merchant $32
Physician $29
Monarch $28
Blacksmith $25
Spy $27

RP cost for buildings:  First = 10, Second =  30, Third/Fourth = 40, Fifth/Sixth/Seventh = 50, Eighth/Ninth = 60 with the mill/kingball court/lighthouse and pavilion all at 30 from the get go.

Discount at the Shoppe is based off one of the aspects.  I'm assuming it's security because I just completed the ambition for Thought & Prayer which wanted knowledge and culture so my security and well-being were low to neutral all the time and I only saw a discount there towards the end.  Basically the shopkeepers feel safer so they offer better discounts?

It is security.  Maybe it has to do with their supplies not getting intercepted by bandits all the time, so they don't have to mark up their prices as much.

I put information about Heat in the Blacksmith Guide that I'd like to have checked. Also, I'm nowhere near having all the smithing items on that list.

This information has been helpful guys. I think next will be some clean up on the pages I've published, then a guide to Edicts and Kingdom Aspects.

Stampercat: That's helpful. I've noticed that cooking on a spit is the best way to go for the duration of the buffs is over twice as long.

Wizards can also mine metals and gems.  I believe wizards and smiths are the only two characters who can do this.

Blacksmiths mine gems as well as metals.

Typo 3rd paragraph.  Merchant, not merchat.

Blacksmiths can sell anything they collect or obtain via fishing.  Items can also be sold at the Village Shoppe.  The Blacksmith booth is really totally unnecessary as it takes up time they could use mining or smithing and gains no extra cash for the time spent.

Certain hammers are required to be able to smith other, better hammers and/or weapons.

If you keep a stock of the basic weapons, armor and tools, you can often avoid having to immediately craft another and can go straight to deliver X item.  I believe you have to be at a certain level of Smith to do this.  I noticed it at level 7 but it might have happened sooner.  I'm going to be bringing up a new smith this time around so will look out for that.
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

Ponders - I don't quite agree from my observations/assumptions. :)

(a) The hammer and hammer quality will also allow for MORE errors - when I forge a longsword with hammer A hovering over the quality bar will give a popup that my current quality is legendary which will drop in 2 mistakes, equipping hammer B the popup reads that my quality is legendary and will drop after 4 errors. So the hammer adds extra error margain too.

(b) The red bar at the top of the quality bar is, as you say, the legendary area but its size also tells you how many errors you can make before the item drops in quality. With some icons (like Anglehammer) the red bar goes a long way with 12 or more errors you can make before the quality drops but with other items it is very small and quality will drop after 1 - 4 errors. The 1 error things are especially pesky when the apprentice is also around because then the coal life issue comes into play and it is wise to restock on coal while the item is somewhere in the middle of the heat bar so it is assured it won't drop into blue while you restock and reheat the coal.

I usually work on long term items when the apprentice is doing something else just to make sure there is no interference.

Not so :)

Butter them up and hustle them then see how much the customer pays at the stall compared to drag and drop sell action. :) Might be useless, I agree, if you have the wrong traits for your smith - but if you have the typical oily merchant qualities .... some armor will sell for 200+ and my Chinchilla sword (legendary) went for 1.200 :)

Thanks you both.

HtFde does that mean that a Legendary Angelshammer does better than a normal despite power being 10 on both items?

Ponders ... I have not tested that - when I am home again this evening I'll try to forge a new one and botch the job up badly so I'll get normal quality and then try to compare the two hammers - maybe a different hammer, as far as I recall I had like 24 errors on the Angelhammer but some other hammers had way less errors before they dropped.

If I had a hammer ....

Well, I made a legendary steel hammer and a normal one through botching up the job. The quality of the hammer itself *is* of importance! I tried making a crude longsword with both hammers - the legendary one would allow for 2 errors before the sword quality would drop from legendary to excellent, the normal hammer would only allow for a single error before quality would drop.

Thanks to both of you. Pam also enlightened me to Hammer Metal on the Anvil. I completely missed that. The Blacksmithing guide is significantly improved as a result :)
