My current Dynasty (Nesbit) is going with a Greek Alphabet theme.  So I thought I'd just share the Greek Alphabet here, any of them could be interesting names.

Alpha
...
Omega

Very nice, Aria, but you forgot the eta and the theta.

You're right, I sure did!  I'll go back and edit in case anyone wants to use the list. :)

I tend to name my Sims after the trait connected to their character. My daughter made my current Sim- Herman Gronk. He has hyacinth blue skin. Pink yellow and purple hair with tatts and face decor too. He married Roxie and they have three kids- Carla, Orlando and Cameron. Carla married Jon Lesser and their son is Josiah ( after Wedgewood) but he is not blue. I had hoped he would be but the trait has not come down through the generations. But I liked the name anyway.

Nice Samoth, post 2 more post and you hit the 3000 posts! Something to be proud about boy!

That Greek Alphabet is a great idea. With this, more posibilities will be thinkable for creative people. I'm almost saw Sesame Street in my thoughts. 'Let's say the alphabet, but this time in Greek. Are you ready kids?'

And I think that Cycl0n3 Sw0rd, Goopy and Ng (sadly removed from TS3) are awesome names.
I think Cycl0n3 Sw0rd is from Sims 3. But it's a weird name ;)

Yeah, Cycl0n3 Sw0rd is definitely still in Sims 3.  He's a computer nerd and that's his silly user name.

I love the Celtic names. Ones I've used are boy's names: Fergus and Rhys (pronounced Reese). Don't forget Ryan's Hope, the old soap opera: Siobban (sha-von), Maeve.

I'm playing a legacy with Jessica Rabbit as the founder (because she looked like the femme-fatale in Roger Rabbit). Rabbit seemed an appropriate last name for a legacy, so I've been having fun with names:

Girls: Bunny, Velveteen, Angora, Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail, White

Boys: Jack, Peter, Frank (Donnie Darko), Harvey, Thumper, Welsh (play on rarebit), Stu (hehe), V.W., Br'er, Killer, Crusader, Roger, Dutch, Hop, Lop, Uncle Wiggly

Am I the only person who doesn't miss Goopy? I hated his guts, he always did messy things or was mean to my people!

Irish names sounds indeed cool, hoping that I speak them out correctly of course, and the same counts for the Norwegian mythology names, but still, if I should make a real lovely dreamgirl sim I would name her differently...

The pronounciations of the Irish names were included in the lists I found online, Leto.  But I would never have been able to get them right!  They all come out of my mouth with an American accent plus a Texas twang.  ;D

I wish I could hear that. It would be pretty funny I think. Funny in a good way. :D
Besides that, it could be that some letters are made to speak out different than you (or me) would think to speak them. Just like in Holland we speak the 'a' and the 'e' different than in England, Australia or America. Saying that, we have three different ways of saying the 'e', which all depends on the context, like in the word 'kenteken'. Illuminator knows what I mean.

I've resently downloaded The Sims 2 Castaway for my mobile, and when my sim was exploring a cave on the island he found a sim which name was: Crazy Carl.
Sorry Carl, finally fame because your name's ingame and it must been this... Still, this makes you famous dude! :D

Sadly, I'm playing a character right now named Kunta Kinte (Roots).

I like to use themes as well.
