My blacksmith can't seem to fulfill his quest. (Legendary Fountain)

He's gotten to the point where he needs to return to the fountain but so far I can't figure a way to get him there.  His traits are Unkempt, Solitary and Uncouth for the fatal flaw.  (Like katluvr I crack up over potty humor.)  What he has to do at this point is be rude to people but I can't seem to get him to do that! He gave his favorite thing to the well, (a pot of poo), and then was told he had to be rude.  Usually you get a thing showing who to be rude to but I've looked all over the map and no one showing up and any other interactions don't work so far.  Metro, help!

Can he click on himself for a rude option?  Or what about an interaction with any other sim under "Trait"?

I haven't tried clicking on himself.  Traits just gives him a chance to tell an obscene joke that everyone thinks is very funny.

I take it an obscene joke does not fulfill the requirement?  My sim was a compulsive gambler and a priest, her task was to cheat at a card came.

Ok, obscene joke doesn't do it but regular jokes insult everyone.  So now it says go to the fountain but the fountain is in the forest and when I go to the forest, well fed and rested, all he can do is go for a stroll.  I think it may be bugged.

You have to have the moodlet that is specifically regarding being uncouth.  I have no idea what it is because I haven't had an uncouth that long yet.  But the moodlet involved has to be present.  Like I had a drunkard do that quest and they had to be sloshed well I had less than 2 sim hours to get her from the nearest keg to the forest and hope it stays long enough for it to work.

I think you have to first "go to location" where the marker is, then the option to go to the fountain will appear on the signpost to the forest.  I know I did that quest and think that was how it worked.

I haven't done that quest, but I am on a quest about the whole town having the plague and I am on the last step - add the potent anti-virus to the well, which my physician did, but the option didn't clear when I did it. It told me I added the medicine in the upper right corner, there is no more anti-virus in my inventory and I can't make more so I'm not sure if I'm missing something (according to the Prima guide this is the last step of the quest.) or if it is a bug and I should quit and restart?

I'll give that a shot, Schip.  I just went to the forest and clicked on the sign but did not do the thing where it calls up places to go to and you go there.  He's gone down all the way from platinum to half way down on silver!  Yikes.

Your sim needs to have the flaw-specific moodlet on before going to the forest. My cowardly physician had to have the "Afraid of the Dark" moodlet, while my bloodthirsty Blacksmither needed the "Looking for a fight!" moodlet before being able to enter the forest again. This quest (and a few others) are quite complicated because they don't explain well what you need to do.

I haven't played 'uncouth' very much, but I had the moodlet come up from using the 'banter' interaction.

Don't know why it didn't work for you.

My blacksmith Rosabelle is a Dedicated, Creative Cook, who is Uncouth at times. (sounds like a line from a dating web site)
 
Rosabelle gave her brown offerings, then was told she had to be rude. So I clicked on a sim, on the other side of the well and did the trait interaction "obscene joke". Bam, it was time to return to the fountain for the final trial. She is very seductive now a days

It sounds like you have a bug. Do you have any mods installed. If so try removing them one at a time. I have several mods running.

Have you got a saved game you can go back to and try again?

I have only done 6 quests at the moment but hopefully this helped.
