Aging help
« on: March 26, 2011, 04:49:56 PM »
Hi, I'm new here and an avid fan of the guide and forum :)

My problem is this:
I just started a young adult with a normal life span. On day 2 she got married. I checked his age and found out he has 15 days until he ages up to adult. Then I looked at her age again and now she suddenly has 15 days left too. On normal life span she should be a young adult for 21 days. She should therefore have 19 days left, not 15!

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening or how to fix it?

Thanks :)

Welcome to the forum, lila711!

You say that you have checked his lifespan and that he had 15 days left till Adult. And then you say you checked her lifespan, she has 15 days too. Right? This may sound stupid, but are you sure it was day two, week one? Maybe it was day two, week two?

Ah, I see. Did this happen to you earlier too?

I've had some issues with ages being reset by using the mirror, wardrobe and makeover station,  but I've never had a sim get older randomly like this.

Makeover station and tattooing in-game resets the lifespan automatically, so no need to worry. But this is quite weird. I don't have anything else to say but wait and see what others say. :)

Sims rarely come out of CAS at the beginning of the life stage. Young Adult's start at a random age out of CAS, sometimes at 21 days, sometimes at as few as 12 days to go. I have it happen all the time. Nothing to worry about. Your sim probably just came out of CAS 16 days to go. After all, you said you checked on Day 2, not on Day 1. So techincally speaking, your Sim didn't age randomly, that's just the age they were out of CAS. Make sense?

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that one. :D Thank you for noting that, DeNile. Then you have nothing to worry about, Lila. :)

But doesn't this make the Immortal Dynasty Challenge even harder? Now I have even less time to do everything that needs to be done...

Oh well, I'm just glad I have an answer :)
I better start building a house now :D
My husband did bring in 105 000 worth of car money after all :D.

Thanks for the help everyone :)

Well, it's random and anyone can have it, so if you really want you can restart (with the same Sim) and if you're lucky, she'll have all the 21 days till Adult. Of course, if you really want to. :)

It may seem to make the Immortal Dynasty harder, but everyone is dealing with the same age variations.

I just had something like this. In my new dynasty Agnes moved in on day 3, and she had 3 days until aging up to adult which was seriously annoying.

Actually, this happens with most sims that get placed into towns through CAS.  There is always a variation of 0-7 days or so into their particular age bracket.  My founder was 5 days into young adult when I started my last one, and the sim who painted her portrait had no skill in painting when I brought her into the house.  But I still managed to get a masterpiece into her museum a couple days before she aged up.
