Nothin' But A Good TimeEver have those moments where you get so caught up in what you're doing that everything just kinda melts into the distance? Yup, that was exactly the moment I was having. I was spending some alone time out in our backyard brushing up on my chess skills when out of nowhere my nose started twitching. At first I thought a sneeze was coming on, it was so persistent that I got out of my chair and all the sudden I aged up into an elder!
I must say, growing older isn't all that bad. I'm not even fussed by the gray hair, honestly I could get used to the "golden days" ahead.
Warren has taken such an avid interest in Angeline that he's hardly ever home anymore. I suspect that he knows all about the "family secret". Yes, I know about it as well. My husband and father in-law just aren't the greatest at secret keeping. I've never told either of them that I know and I don't intend to, I feel that it would make things even harder on Bran in the end. Anways, the night of my neglected birthday, Bran came running from across the street to tell me that I had to see what our son was up to. It was such a sight to see! Our little boy all grown up and courting his hopefully future wife. Samuel should give him some cooking tips though, his hot dogs were burnt to a crisp!
Angeline is such a trooper, I don't think Warren could have talked anyone in the family into trying his food. Thank goodness she managed to choke swallow it down.
After her discreet way of telling Warren his meal was the most wonderful thing she'd ever had, Warren immediately started throwing on the charm.
He sure does take after his father, I remember the days of being young and in love for the first time. Hopefully Warren and Angeline's love will last through the years as well as ours has.
Now as you remember, I got so caught up in my life that I forgot my own birthday. This definitely was not the case for Warren, I made sure it was marked on the calendar so we could throw him a big bash. Birthdays never used to be a big thing in this house, still aren't for the older generation, but we all leave Warren with very little to be wanted.
I'm sure you can imagine Warren's delight to find out that Angeline had a birthday of her own since he'd last seen her. We all should have seen what was coming as soon as she walked through our front gate. I guess the older you grow, you don't always gain the wisdom to see everything.
Once again, Warren see what he wants and he goes straight for it. This time we didn't even try to get him to make his trip to the mirror and dresser. From the look on Angeline's face, even she didn't see this coming so quickly.
As you can guess, she said yes! I'm so happy to be able to share this moment in my son's life. Our household has been such a warm environment since Warren was born, I even saw Samuel sneak wiping a tear away from his cheek.
Just when I thought I was going to finally get to plan a wedding, Warren ripped that right out of my thoughts and put his own ceremony into action! I'll be having some words with him later. As soon as he proposed to Angeline, I was picking out color schemes in my head. That boy just can't seem to wait for anything and I have no clue where he gets it from. That's two generations of Hauptman women to get married in their swim wear!
Looks like tomorrow I'll get to start working on decorating their master bathroom as well as throw Warren in front of a mirror with a little trip to the dresser on the side. I have a sneaking suspicion that we'll have the little pitter patter of feet running through our house in the coming days.
