Lord Have Mercy

Since our house seems to be in a constant cycle of growth, I decided to take time out for myself and finish up my spar challenges. I seem to find inner peace in Shang Simla, maybe one of these days we'll have our own house here.



After days and days of challenging everyone in sight I finally roused up my final sparing partner to complete my goal. Everyone was such a sport about my constant need to spar, I really feel like I've found a second home here.



Even the paparazzi are more kind here, they stood back and did their thing while I did mine. Thankfully they weren't hanging around constantly like they do at home, I swear our front gate has become a red carpet attraction.



Dad's found a good way to avoid any unwanted attention, he's also making a few enemies in the process if he drills too late. He's recently started working on transfiguring gems and has made me promise to start breaking space rocks for him.



My little boy isn't so little anymore, he spends so much time locked away coming up with new inventions, that we only see him when he brings his creations to Granddad for consignment.







At least he seems happy as far as any of us can tell. Angeline and I introduced him to our friend Carey Colberts' daughter Dina. I'm pretty sure there's more there than he's willing to admit as he's mentioned that he has big news for us.





How my son found time to propose to Dina, plan out a wedding party, invite guests and do this without anyone in the house finding out is an amazing achievement. Looks like the Hauptman proposal/marriage in one quick motion has come to an end, at least for this generation.







Dina's a cute kid, Angeline however wasn't letting her get away with her hairstyle or clothing choices. Personally, I think Angeline was in a huff about Stefan being sneaky and pulling one over on the family and took it out on poor Dina.



Not to be outdone by her own son, Angeline threw a big bash for her elder birthday a few days later. With her job in politics going so well, she's met an assorted bunch of people. Unfortunately, Grim didn't seem to take so kindly to our eclectic group and came to escort Gino Keaton to the underworld. I know Grim is waiting for the day he can take Angeline from me, he's never showed up at one of our parties before.









Dina, who has been dealing with a pregnancy full of morning sickness, decided that she was spending the day at the spa rather then attend the birthday festivities. I don't think any of us realized how far along she was or we wouldn't have let her go out alone.



As far as Granddad can recall, no Hauptman wife so far has experienced such a turbulent pregnancy, then again none of them have brought us a little pink bundle of joy! Introducing Mercy, the first and long awaited Hauptman girl.

Thanks TCR, I was a bit shocked when I went to do Dina's and saw she liked the same color as Stefan! Thankfully, Mercy got a new color that hasn't shown in my dynasty yet and I can't wait to play around with it a bit more.

I've Created A Monster?

My goal is to create "monsters", I however do not know if I would consider these creations monsters. As much as I'm intrigued by the idea of having one of my creations around, Great Granddad Samuel has informed me that "there's no way possible" and if I do manage to "create such lunacy I'm to release it immediately". Older generations just don't understand me and the changing times.

However, I did manage to do the impossible and I created my first simbot. As Great Granddad demanded I released my son, Shawn Hauptman, out into the wild world to make his own way. Later on I purchased My Best Friend as one of my lifetime rewards, his name is Robby Hauptman and I set him up in a nice house with an ocean view. I also created two other "monsters" a daughter named Wanda and a son name Kenya. As soon as things calm down this week I'll see about hunting them down and having them out for a day of scrap scavenging.



My human daughter on the other hand has a more family oriented birthday, she did though have an unfortunate hair style which was remedied immediately.





At least I get to keep one of my "monsters", isn't she adorable? She's won over the hearts of everyone with her baby blues.



Dina is such a wonderful mother, if not an overbearing one. She refuses to let anyone help teach Mercy the basics of being a toddler.





Dad's all ready for his first taste of ambrosia as soon as Granddad Bran paints his elder portrait, I'm sure as soon as he blows out the candles he'll have him off posing before he can make a wardrobe change.





And of course as soon as Great Granddad Samuel was home from work, the ambrosia was cooking. They all sat down together to discuss whatever it is that they always do. I'm so not looking forward to having to sit down with them one day, we have nothing in common.



Oh yea, Dad finally managed his wardrobe change. I think he might have gone a bit senile with his color choices, I know his favorite is pink but that's just gaudy.



I was coming up from my inventing room for a breather one day and stumbled upon Dina teaching Mercy how to talk. I'm not sure what teaching a toddler about muscles has to do with it but, at least my little girl is forming words!



I know everyone has taken to Mercy like no other but, Great Granddad Samuel seems to have more of a connection with my monster than anyone else.



And before we were ready to let her, it was time for Mercy to grow up. I hope she can make sense of the madness in this house better than I ever have. She's got a lot weighing on her little shoulders and she doesn't even know it.

Just catching up on all my back reading.  Congratulations, condolences, happy birthday all rolled into one!  Mercy is just the cutest litting girl - she's gonna have a house full of Hauptman men wrapped around her little finger!

After loading my dynasty up this morning I found my save stuck with the inventory bug. I figured it was no biggie and I'd just play through it like others are doing. After playing for about an hour I decided to take part of my family on vacation and everything went downhill from there. Somewhere on the trip home I managed to lose my second immortal, he doesn't even register in the character portraits on the side. Each time I reloaded the file and tried to bring my family back I ended up with missing sims or all sims missing. Once again no biggie, just load up my other save file.

Well, it would be no problem except for the fact that it crashes each time I que up an action. The one time I got it to load without crashing, I found I'm missing items around the house and all paintings in the house are missing. I checked each sims inventory, the family inventory and every single wall in the house. All paintings done by my sims through the generations are gone, the only thing left on the walls are buymode bought paintings and the few photographs I've taken and stuck in the digital frames. So due to all portraits being gone in one file and the other completely on vacation forever, my dynasty finishes here.
