Five birthdays and A FuneralStefan's time as a baby wasn't much to bat your eyes at, we were all focusing on tasks we'd set for ourselves to finish before he hit toddler age. We knew at that age we'd have our quiet hours few and far between. As much as we tried juggling our careers and skills, I don't think any of us hit the tasks at hand before it was time for his birthday party. As Great Granddad Samuel tried to bring Stefan to his cake, our butler zipped past him and decided he wanted to do the honors. Samuel didn't seem to mind, he said there'd be plenty more birthdays to follow.
I on the other hand, made sure no one could get between me and my little boy after he aged up. He just gets more and more precious by the day.
That night, after so many years of trying to run into Agnes, Samuel was successful! We all know how lonely it must be for him to be the only one in the house without a significant other.
A few days later it was time to teach my little boy how to walk. I almost didn't want to because it would mean that he'd be even more independent than he already is, but there's just no way to say no to this sweetie.
Warren's been waiting for weeks for a call to bring him back to Shang Simla to compete in a martial arts tournament. Everyday I see him come home and check the answering machine only to be disappointed. I suggested he make a call to his mentor and see if maybe they'd mixed his number up, Warren agreed that it was possible and made the call. Before we knew it, Warren was hollering that he was going on vacation. I don't really see it as being a vacation since he'll be going up against competitors every chance he gets.
While he was away he missed our sons next birthday, in fact we all did, I guess things are just moving so quickly now that it's hard to keep up.
Stefan's room in the basement is still being worked on by his father but he begged me to let him in to play around on his workbench. I doubt Warren will mind, but I'm not too sure Stefan is ready yet, he keeps hammering his fingers!
When I first let Stefan into his room, he asked me why there was a shower down there and if he was changing bedrooms. I told him to not be silly, it was just a precaution because inventing can be quite dangerous. Stefan rolled his eyes at me and said I was crazy, little did he know I was standing back and caught a few pictures of him when he first lit himself on fire.
And since Stefan said I needed payback, a few days later he caught a snapshot of me doing something I hate to admit to. It was my first ice sculpture, do you really blame me for testing it?
Luckily, all the fuss was forgiven as it was time for another birthday. This time it was my adult birthday and things again went awry. It really honestly wasn't my fault!
Unfortunately, I think the fire took a few years off my mother in-law because as Sonja was painting, Grim decided it was her time to join him. I've been told that it's the same spot that Agnes passed on in. I'm starting to think that my sculpting station needs to be moved elsewhere.
Bran, was out of the house collecting the income from our properties when it happened. I don't think he'll ever forgive himself for not being with Sonja in her last moments. Most nights he's now found out in the family cemetery where Sonja was placed next to Agnes. He keeps telling Samuel that Sonja will show up any day now. Samuel doesn't have the heart to tell him it was weeks before Agnes made her first appearance, not to mention that when she did, she got in a car and drove off.
I don't know how far the bond between husband and wife reaches beyond death, but there's something to say about never giving up hope. Less than a week after Sonja passed on, she made her way back to Bran. They both were so happy to see each other again that Bran wasn't even shocked.
Time for another birthday! This time I promise there were no mishaps and everything went according to plan, kinda. Bran decided that there was no reason to not throw a party, he was just glad to have his wife back in any form.
Stefan sure seems to take after his Great Granddad and Grandfather.
Remember how I said it kinda went according to plan? Well, one thing we didn't plan on was Jo Thibodeau going into labor. Everyone was panicking at first and then just kinda blew the poor girl off. I felt bad for her, seeing as she was at the party all alone, I decided to take her to the hospital myself.
A few hours later and little Garrick Thibodeau was brought into the world.
The other part we didn't plan on happened while I was at the hospital with Jo. Apparently, Warren had just gotten all the guests to leave, cleaned up the house and was all tucked into bed when out of the blue, our house was being robbed! Warren didn't take to this lightly and immediately went to give the robber a good beat down.
Needless to say, I don't think anyone will attempt to rob our place again, at least hopefully not for a very very long time.
The next day Warren informed us that it was time for him to have his adult birthday as well. He said that he only wanted to invite a few close family friends because of all the commotion that we'd had over the last few days, we all agreed and let him set the party up.
