Chapter 10:  The Times, They Are A-Changing

What a change it is being a parent!  Little Strawberry and Flamingo are long out of the blanket stage and are tearing around the house.  Bebe and I have taught them how to walk, talk, and go potty.  They have a very strange way of walking as young SimBots.

All of us in the house have a bad first reaction to them, like all Sims have with SimBots.  It's especially hard for Bebe because she loves them so much and tries to be a good mother, but she truly cannot help her natural reactions.  I don't like it either and when it happens for me, I just push past it and keep doing what I'm trying to do.  I think the saddest part is that the twins really dislike each other.  They are both the sweetest girls and can't help the way they are.  They are much too young to understand about loving someone even if you're frightened or upset.  Strawberry and Flamingo will need a lot of help if they are ever to become sisters to each other, or even friends.

Dad adores them, of course.

I would still like to have a large family.  Bebe, too.  My Watcher left us alone for awhile again, but no luck with babies this time.  Bebe took a job in Politics and when my Watcher returned, she was not happy and made Bebe quit her job right away.  I guess it's just not part of my Watcher's plan for Bebe to have a career.  When not tending to Strawberry and Flamingo, Bebe has to work on cooking, Dad works on fishing, and I work on gardening.  It looks like a specific plan, but I don't understand the mind of my Watcher.  I do as she asks, though, because look how much she has given me already.  A wife to love me, a beautiful home in which to thrive, and my two darling girls.  Watcher has made it known to me that she will leave us one more time, but no more.  We can try for more children on our own and if it doesn't work again, we will think of something else because I don't like being separated from my Watcher.

Author's note:  I've got some videos of Strawberry and Flamingo that I'm uploading to Facebook.  It will take me awhile to get them all done.  For a start, here's Uriah going hot tubbing.

Is that elongated walking from when they aged up, or do they toddlers always walk like that?

The one with very dark hair like Uriah is Strawberry.  The one with the long hair the color of Bebe's is Flamingo.  I've posted a video on Facebook of them walking to get a better idea of what's actually happening.

Yes, please. :D I love the way this story is going. Little Strawberry and Flamingo are as cute as Midnight Dreamweaver.

Loving the story Pam, thank you for sharing this.

I have a some questions though, did you get a notification telling you that the twins were going to age up?  How many days were the twins nooboos for?  And could the twins already walk when they aged up or did you have to teach them?  And if so did you get any pictures or was it just like teaching a sim toddler to walk?

I know in my dynasty the Simbot/Vampire Hybrids crawled to begin with and I never thought of having one of my immortals teach them how to walk, I'm just curious as to what happens and may have to reopen my file to find a few things out myself  :D

And I'm learning quite a few tips from reading your story.
♫♪If life seems jolly rotten, there's something you've forgotten and that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.  When you're feeling in the dumps, don't be silly chumps, just purse your lips and whistle that's the thing, and always look on the bright side of life......♪♫
