How To: Upload a Sim to the Swap Shop

I've followed the instructions listed on the Swap Shop board, but I'm slightly confused.
Once I've gone into CAS and clicked share, what do I do?
How do I make it a .sim3pack and how do I upload it onto the Swap Shop?

Once you share the Sim in CAS (give it a name and description), it's automatically saved in the correct format.  You then start your new topic on the appropriate Swap Shop board with all the required information for uploaded Sims.  Next, click the plus sign next to Additional Options at the bottom of the post you're composing.  Click the button "Choose File" and attach the file for the Sim you have created and shared.  You'll find it with this path:  c:/Documents/Electronic Arts/Sims 3/Exports.  Basically, when you share the Sim from CAS, you're putting it in the Exports folder and it can easily be attached from there.

When I tried this, I copied and pasted the file like in the tutorial.  When I went to preview, there was red "x" with  no picture.  I followed the instructions, I hope, but the tutorial showed.  Ok, so you highlight the code, copy and paste in the reply in your post and then do you click on "insert image"?  Anyway, it is not working and I don't want to hit post if it does not show up.  Help, lol.

You don't copy and paste the file you open it, if that makes sense? The Picture and the "Attach" are completely separate. The picture is a picture via Photobucket or the Gallery to show what your Sim looks like, you don't paste the Sims code into there. Sorry if that was a it of a confusion, I will edit my post to say that!

I figured it out and had to put a screenshot of my sim up first, then I just opened up the file and hit post and it went right in.  I was a little confused at first, but it works and my first sim is in the swap shop.  It still was alot easier than I thought it would be though.  Thanks again for the tutorial.

How do I upload sims I've saved? In CAS I usually save each individual sim I create while creating a household, and then play the household which is usually a couple, sometimes with children. I haven't actually played a single sim yet. I've shared a couple of my households.   When I'm in Edit Town I can see the households I've created but not the single sims I've saved, I'm a bit confused.

Hope this makes sense...

Step 1. Go onto CAS (create a sim) and once you are done with all details click the ... button on the picture of your sim at the bottom.
Step 2. Click share.
Step 3. Come on to this and click attachment and other options.
Step 4. Click documents, electronic arts, the sims 3.
Step 5. Click exports and then click the sims you are looking for.
Step 6. Do the description ect.
Step 7. Your done!

I've shared my sim from the mirror, saved and quitted, went to my exports folder but there was nothing there. What have I done wrong?
