Thought I'd resurrect this thread rather than start a new one about the same topic (keep all the info together) Anyway, somebody mentioned in passing about whether masterpieces appreciate more than average paintings. I couldn't find any info, so I have decided to do some testing.
I'm only on day 6, so I haven't got any workable statistics yet, but I've noticed a couple of strange things and wondered if anyone else had noticed.
First I have 3 artists working on the same size works at the same time (needs are static) Two of them are artistic and one can't stand art. He gets a negative moodlet that lasts for three hours every time I start him painting, but the odd thing is that his large paintings are often worth more than the works of the other two, who have the artistic trait. That just seems odd lol
Secondly, I'm checking the values of the completed works (which are all hanging on a wall) and they haven't gone up in value yet. That's not surprising as it still is the first week, but there have been a couple of times when I have been recording values, and grade of paintings before I hang them and have noticed that they have gone up in value between being completed and hanging on the wall! At first, I thought it was because they were worth more to start with, but looking over the rest, there have been others that were worth more and painted earlier, but have still not increased in value.
