Yep. Carl is now officially a household member of casa de Metro. His icon has been added to the left side of the game screen. Looks like what's on the agenda is Battle: Los Angeles this afternoon as well as some homemade fried rice since Carl requested Chinese for dinner. Later.

Train journeys can be a right pain, I try and take my laptop with me and a bunch of dvds to occupy myself. Took me six hours last time I travelled up to Edinburgh. Unless that is I'm travelling for business and in that case I have to work (boo to work!). How long was your train journey?

Well?

How was the trip?

(Were you both shocked to discover that behind your screen personas you are both actually well funded tween girls, that love ponies and unicorns?)   :o

(And after 'Gnomeo and Juliet', they went shopping!)

How is Medieval?  I'm thinking of getting it, but I like food, and other stuff (I don't want to get it if it doesn't have fairies and unicorns!) :D

Hah that would really crack some people up but I think not. Get Tom to sign up on that and we can fight over who gets to be the laughing man. I think my face is not the most worrisome feature! Six years behind a desk is! :)

I actually have found you already on the internet. But don't worry, of course I will not link to that site. Maybe I can send it you by email because I am to curious if it is really you.
Don't blame my curiousity, I am more than a year online here so I really am thinking more than once how this and that person here would look like in real life.
With my birthday I got an excuse to ask Pam's picture, but for you and Metro I have to be more... 'insidious.' :P

I really hope you two guys are having a lot of fun. We all want a indepth story on how much fun you've had.

Lol yeah, Hosfac cracks me up. Ohio's not a great place to travel anyway. Ask one of us. I'm on the worst end anyway, but there are some better areas. It'll be a blast meeting Metro< I'm just anxious to get the train ride over with. I've built it up to the point that it's the scariest part in my mind. But doing this will make it easier on me when I finally do try to travel and meet Pam. The ride to her home is literally 24 hours by train.

I find it very brave of you to admit that you find it scary. It is indeed, although probably not anymore now you two have meet each other, but I do indeed know it is scary, although the only example I have are the few times I've met this and that girl online and desided to meet each other. I, living at one part of Holland, and the girls on the other part. It's not a big country, but well, traveling takes a lot of time.

We just got back from Battle: Los Angeles. Both of us liked it a lot. My vote for the most original line that I had never heard before in an alien invasion movie is:

"FIRE IN THE HOLE!"

The movie was Ok. I gave it a B. I'd never seen a movie screen so big, and that definitely helped with the score. The box office girl told us it would be showing on the Mega Screen. She wasn't kidding!

We've had a chance to talk and are planning some projects for The Sims 3 Guide that will present information in new and different ways to appeal to an audience that would just like a fast rundown of info. Some of it will also be helpful to future challenge players. This will be a fun way to spruce up the Guide once the announcement for the next Expansion has been made. I'm also going to look into peeking inside Sims 3 files to get numbers that aren't otherwise available. I have always wanted a vehicles page but never wanted to plagiarize the data from another site.

Can't wait to head to Walmart tomorrow. I imagine it'll be impossible to tear us away from the computer so we got movie #1 out of the way. The preview for Sucker Punch was so awesome I'll bear an opening night viewing to see it on that massive screen ;)

Okey, let's see if I can find it again. Shall I quote it here?

Haha, no way I will try that. :P If Carl is capable of hunting down Metro he is capable of hunting down me, for posting his picture. And well, let's face it, musculair or not, and strong or not, I have no idea of Carl's fisical power so I better not take the risk.
He probably will hire someone to hunt me down. :P

Uhm, well. I forgot his lastname Pam. So I will try it again later. I'm not even going to type here how I did it because the big man will probably not that pleased if I did. :P

For some odd reason I automatically typed in Carl Radcliff and although I didn't even had Harry Potter in my mind, of course the wrong pictures started to popup.

We're having a lot of fun with Medieval so far. It's bringing back that sense of excitement and exploration that has vanished for me with The Sims 3.  Dueling, and exploring the kingdom is quite fun. The only thing we've really found lacking so far is some of the quests for Merchants. You know the type -- you're sent off to talk to this Sim, then go across the map to speak to another or do something silly in a rabbit hole just to run back across the map and find you're not quite done. Some of that isn't very exciting but the quests are of the same quirky nature with The Sims' signature humor. It is very reminiscent of World Adventures' China due to the walking time and the way Quests are often easy to complete. We've seen more depth to them, however, in that they sometimes involve multiple steps and you can choose in which order to tackle them.

Myself, I'm getting the itch to write. I can't wait to crack it open and figure out how everything works. Traits are very odd, and finding good uses for them will definitely take time. We're seeing an end in sight although a game is quite long. It'll take the average person a few days to finish up a Kingdom, and that's with some fairly heavy play. This evokes a sense of great replayability. You won't be able to pull everything off in one Kingdom, although you will still find better routes to improving the kingdom score. Strategy will be important and I can't wait to advise people against certain quest lines that don't offer the kind of payoff for the price.

At this time, I believe you are given 50 quest points to spend, and each quest you undertake will deduct from that, leading to an ending and score for the Kingdom. I'm not aware of any imposed time limit in days, so we'll likely find it's not worth it to rush through all of the quests. Meeting a Sim's needs and making them happier through buffs (moodlets) is still very important. We're down to 38 quest points and have only touched upon the Monarch, Knight, and Merchant. There's no juggling involved. You switch between characters with each quest you take on.

We tried a cheat, and do know that motherlode works. This lead to unlocking an achievement for Tom's account, raising his Watcher level which will represent how much he's accomplished in the game once it's been registered. This bug needs fixed asap before people start cheating their way to the top. That's not to say that everyone cares about achievements in games. I know for a fact many don't, but this will discredit Medieval's entire achievement system and make it irrelevant to folks who really want to work for them.

We'll be putting together a detailed review when we've got some more time in with the various classes. Right now, with the Merchant experience tainting it, it wouldn't be very fair. I'm sure that hero class does have its merits. It was kind of interesting hawking items to Sims, and they do visit the lot very often when a Merchant is open for business. For now, I hope my rambling gives you some insight into what we think of it until we can compose an organized review.
