Carlopolis - Vacation Time
« on: March 19, 2011, 08:48:45 PM »
Tomorrow I will board a train to meet Metropolis Man, and will be gone for a week. I think it's been no secret around here and has been mentioned a few times about the forum. It's kind of an historic moment for me and my business of writing guides in general. I flew solo for years before meeting Pam and Tom. Their presence has helped me to create something much better than I could have accomplished alone. Now I will be meeting one of them face to face. It's nice, as I've talked to Tom a lot over the past year and a half. We've really kicked butt and put out some serious content for this site.

We'll be enjoying our first impressions with Medieval together and starting to plan our agenda for the project. I'm sure to gain a couple pounds on the trip as Tom is planning to show me pointers in the kitchen and let me taste some things I've never had. Turns out he's got a high level in cooking. It'll be a blast with plenty of guy stuff as his wife and chidren are off on a trip. Still, we'll end up working a lot of the time and taking notes for the Medieval Guide. He'll also get to see boss man kick a little butt in Starcraft 2. I'm really excited to do this as it will open up the world to me. I'm almost a country boy and I'll be getting out of the county for the first time in years.

For you folks who are interested, I'll be launching a forum specific to Medieval at some time in the near future. I will encourage you to use your C&P Sims 3 forum nick when doing so. We'll be launching within two weeks of my return next Sunday (the 27th). I'm sure we'll stop in and update here a couple times while I'm away. Pam is next on my list. I can't miss out on meeting her but she's nearly triple the distance from my home. That's if she wants to hang with me after she hears the horror stories from Metro!

I will not be working on the guide or forum this week unless something very serious comes up. But rest assured, I'll continue my daily backup process at Tom's house :)

What a stroke of luck that I happened to be online when Carl posted this. All I can say is..."Wow. I totally forgot about this!"

I need to go clean the house!

Well I hope the two of you have fun!  I always enjoy it the first time I meet someone face to face that I've previously only known electronically, so to speak.  :P

You better clean, Metro. The slightest bit of dust and my sinuses get all clogged. Better get on it. Do you have cats?

No animals. Have no fear. Not even an ant farm. Just Claire's animal coloring books which I'll pass on to you soon.

Thank god I was wondering what I'd do to fill 168 hours of time with you.

I can see the one upmanship is going to be kicked into high gear. Lol. We can have forumers participate in an official zinger ranking, Carl.  :D

Seriously, folks — this is a big moment for the two of us and has been in the works for a LOOONG time. It will be awesome.

Someone has asked me about pictures. I think, no. That would destroy the last of my anonymity. I'm already quite findable.
