Statue from the future gives dirty surroundings icon.

My sim recently got married and I noticed every time his new wife went outside around the pool she was getting a dirty surroundings icon and start gagging. I started moving everything out of the back yard until I finally found what was doing it.
A statue her husband had brought back from the future. It doesn't bother him, only her. I assume it's her neat trait causing it.

Here's the statue causing the problem. Even tho it makes her sick, if I click on it and tell her to view it she cheers and claps like she likes it.

Somehow I missed this when it was first posted.  But it's very interesting, Grimsoul.  I've never run into a statue that caused a dirty surroundings moodlet.  I wonder why it's happening.

I don't know, it's strange. Maybe the creature is really stuffed and mounted and starting to rot some.
I liked the looks of it but I finally put it away in the family inventory. I got tired of her gagging every time she got near it.

Guess I could build a special room for it and lock the door so only he can get in.

What an interesting though weird story. I hope your game isn't bugged or something grimsoul as that could cause troubles.

I do also. I was hoping that maybe someone else might have this statue and could say if they had any problems with it.

I done a little testing to figure out what was causing it to happen. I turned testingcheats on so I could click on her to change her traits and find out which one it was causing the problem.

I thought it would be the neat trait doing it so I changed it first and sent her back out by the statue and she still got sick.
I brought her inside and changed her snob trait and sent her back out again and she didn't get sic this time. I edited her traits one more time and put snob back and set her back out again and she got sic again.

So I was wrong guessing it was the neat trait causing it. It's the snob trait doing it.

So I guess it's alright to have this statue just so one of your sims isn't a snob.

And it got rid of the "Dirty" moodlet, too?  Wow, I would have never expected traits to cause reactions to objects like that!

It makes sense though. Think about it we get moodlets for decoration and unfinished rooms. So despite the cheering maybe deep down she thought that fish thing was so ugly it was disgusting?

Yes, It's got rid of the Dirty moodlet also.
Just for another test I edit the other sims traits and gave him the snob trait and the statue effected him the same way it did her.

Well, isn't that interesting!  I wonder if there are other statues or artwork that snobs react negatively to.  You'd expect them to turn up their snobby noses at cheap stuff, but I just don't understand what it is about that statue from the future that a snob would find distasteful.

Uhm... maybe just simply taste? Or the object was cheaper than the one that came from buymode. I'm just guessing though, but I do know that snobs like expensive objects, like you've said. So maybe this one wasn't expansive enouth, because it can be more expansive.
I really am guessing now, am I?

That statue looks like one you get with the Barnacle Bay stuff.  I've never had that reaction to it.  Very interesting.

Nah, it's not that one. There are two statues in the BB set, but none of them matches this statue. See the pic on the Store.

The Poseidon statue from the BB set looks very similar, but there's a human in it instead of a fishy-type guy.
