It's only natural, Esther. The guide helped burn me out, given I learned about most things aside from little quirks, but ultimately I started to get bored and had to put it down for an extended period. I haven't used my spare time to play in a while. As a gamer I bounce from game to game and sometimes stay on one long enough to achieve some kind of mastery (or write a guide and burn myself out on all its mechanics lol). Doesn't even have to be gaming, I got into the show Lost recently and have spent a lot of free time watching it the past two months.

Definintely don't feel bad Esther. I haven't even played for a couple months since whenever I finished that career challenge. Just not interested in it right now. It happens

It happens Esther. I'm not 100% interested myself. I just take a few breaks, play a few online games, and go back.

Welcome back Ruby!

That happens to all of us dear Esther. I havent played for months aside from making my last Science Fiction Movie Clip. I am mostly hanging around on this forum, supporting members along there way with my knowledge of sims, fixing their topics, doing the secret moderator stuff behind your all back (:P) or completely offtopic things off the topic. At this moment I mostly play Skyrim, the pacifistic way. But I always will go back to sims later on anyway.
I always do. And I know that.  So dont feel guilty. :)

Don't worry about Esther, I haven't played much lately either. It's just natural to need to take a break from time to time.  It help me for awhile when I started using Twallan's Story Progression. It breathed new life in the game for awhile.
But right now about all I do with The Sims is come here and work on patterns.

Esther, don't worry! I've taken my TS3 breaks and have gone back to Sims 2 quite a bit, and now I'm on a break again because I'm playing TSM! Everyone has their breaks, I don't think I'll ever move on from Sims for that Matter.  ;D

@Carl: My mom loved Lost. I most likely won't be on Sims period coming this June when Mr.Sheen returns on TV!

That's ok Esther! When I first got Minecraft I didn't play sims for a while. Even after my Minecraft fase burned out, I still wasn't that interested in sims. It happens to everyone sooner or later.

I rotate between World of Warcraft, Sims 3, and Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. I also have schoolwork to keep me distracted and occupied.

Thanks Carl. I recently started back on my meds and even asked my doctor if a side-effect was losing interest in something I used to love. She said no, maybe I'm just bored. It makes sense I guess, considering I used to play all the time since 2009.

Thanks Sportsfan. I used to not get being bored with sims, now I get it all too well.

Thanks Seabody. Right now, I mostly play my facebook games, Skip-Bo and solitaire.

Thanks Leto. Months? Wow! What are you guys up to now? You guys already made an entire world, what could possibly be left to do?? I think the reason I feel guilty about it is they used to be such a huge part of my life, but now I have no interest in them and it makes me feel guilty being on a sims forum when I'm not playing sims.

Thanks Grimsoul. I didn't use mods when I was playing them all the time, so I won't use mods when I'm not. Is that with CAW?

Thanks Jeana. I never played 1 or 2, so I can't go back to them lol. I also don't have TSM! I agree, even though I'm on a break from them, I can't ever see myself uninstalling them and never playing again! No way, they helped me through rough times and will always be in my heart.

Thanks Alex. I've heard people say they were bored of sims, and never got it. But now I know exactly what they meant. I never thought it would happen to me though!

Thanks Shirin. I've been out of scool since the 90's lol. I graduated in 1999! ;D

Thanks Kirby. I used to play PS2 all the time before I found sims, maybe I should try finding my games and trying them out again!

Thank you everyone, I was kinda afraid no one would understand, but finding out everyone understands makes me feel so good. Never in a million years would I have ever thought I would get burned out on sims. But since it has happened, I need to accept the fact that maybe any game I play for many years all the time might get old. I used to think that as long as I got the SP and EP's it would never get old, but SP and EP's aren't helping. :'(

Esther, I know how you feel. I lost interest after my Tunic file died, but I finally started playing again with a new family this month. So I think your "addiction" will come back, and even if it doesn't, don't despair :)

No need to feel guilty. For the last  few months I am more playing Skyrim than I play sims. But there is no reason to feel guilty.

I think she's more of a lurker now, like JessieTheDog (Emily is her real name, right?) I haven't seen mgtlady, or Schipperke in a very long time either. Hope all is well with them.
I think it is :) I'm a lurker now. I've moved house and school again and I've always found it difficult to make friends. Because of this, I'm not often in the mood for posting.

Thanks Ruby and Leto. I hope so, feels weird not being addicted to them and playing all the time.

Welcome back Emily! Good luck with all the changes and know we will always be here for you!
