Landgraab Help!
« on: March 12, 2011, 04:29:10 AM »
I am using the Landgraab family. Malcom and Hannelore are both Elders and should die soon - but Adrien (their son) is a Young Adult. He has no romantic interests or anything like that and I cant seem to get him to have any girlfriends etc. that develop into something more. Is there anyway that I can continue this family without making a girlfriend etc.?

You could adopt a child, though they won't be genetically linked. But please explain more about not being able to have girlfriends. Do you try romantic interactions?

Welcome to the forum :)
Like Pally said, you could try adopting (use the phone, go to call for services, then pick adoption).
When you try to get a sim to be his girlfriend, what kind of things are you trying?

Welcome to the forum, Bobozia! :)
I see you posted your first topic in the Console board, and mentioned that you have PlayStation 3. I think you should have put this there too. From what I've read in the Sims Wiki about the Ladgraabs, Malcolm is married to Hannelore, and they have a son in Sims 3 for PS3 and Xbox360. I don't think I can help you with the problem, but have you checked Carl's parenting guide? It's written for PC and Mac versions of the game, but may be helpful for Console versions too. :)

The Relationships Guide may also be of help, if you're having trouble with getting to the romantic interaction stage.

If you do the same interactions all over again, the person you're talking to will get bored. Try using some other actions. You first need to flirt, 2-3 times compliment the Sim and only then attempt to kiss or pick up line. Doing that early will get you a negative moodlet of being rejected.

A lot of time the other person's mood will affect how well romantic interactions go over.

When you first meet up with his desired girlfriend, ask about her day.  If it says she's having a bad day, it's a clear indicator that some romantic interactions won't go over well.  You need to pay attention to the headline effects (the conversation/thought bubbles above her head) to find out what is bothering her.  Your best bet is to invite her over and have a cooked meal waiting when she gets there.  Call her to the meal by clicking on it and selecting "Call guests to meal" so she's well fed.  After she's done, go watch television and invite her to join you.  Make sure you let her use the bathroom if she needs to after the meal though.

Another good way to spur things along is to use the friendly interaction to ask her to spend the night.  She'll use the fridge as she needs to, shower, and will even sleep (make sure to pick her day off for a sleepover).  Spend the evening filling her fun bar, then get up early and cook breakfast and make your move after she eats.

If she's having a bad day because someone close to her has died, there isn't a lot you can do, outside of giving her a quick jolt with the moodlet manager.

Yes but I thought Id put it in here because this isn't necessarily a 'console only' problem.

It probably is a "console only" problem, to be honest.  The coding language for computers is quite different from the coding language for consoles, and while some problems might overlap, I've never heard of it happening.

I was able to marry him with my sim. Try spamming flirt, flirtatious joke, hold hands, and chat with a female sim.

Thank You very much for that Zuraka. You've been most helpful.
