Where Are the People in Riverview?

I usually play in Sunset Valley, but I've started a couple of games in Riverview for a change of pace.  My guitarist can't earn any tips because nobody is around!  In Sunset Valley, the city park is a great place to earn tips.  Or in front of the book store.  In Riverview, these places seem almost deserted.  All the shops are right together around Four Bridges Park and that's where my Sim tries to play for tips.  His wish is just for $25 and he can't even get that.  Where do the people in Riverview hang out?

Pam, once it gets to be around 5 PM have the sim play for tips smack dab in front of the theatre. That is unquestionably the highest traffic place in Sunset Valley, so I'm assuming it would be the same for Riverview. And on the weekends when sims go the stadium you might also try there.

You're welcome. The other day Carl and I were both pondering whether or not a guitarist's relationship with another sim influenced tips. Maybe you can see if you find any evidence of that.

Having good relations doesnt mean you will get good tips.
Sims who are good and easily impressed tend to tip more according to the data that I peeked.
Sims who are evil, frugal and snob are less likely to tip.
You can also play compositions to increase the tips they give.

That doesn't really make sense because those are 2 different actions: either you perform a song or you play for tips. You can't receive tips while performing a song.

Pam - I'm like you I really dislike Riverview-  I just can't get used to it.

Riverview isn't as pretty as Sunset Valley, either.  The houses are all country and farm looking, which doesn't appeal to me very much.  My guitarist is Billy Caspian and the family is living in his rennovated bachelor pad because it's at least modern looking.  I'm working on a walkthrough for this particular family, so you'll get to read about it on the main site before too long.

Yep, Riverview has a small town feel to it. I like it, when I know my Sim won't care about interacting with others so much. I also find the fishing spots to be more scenic. It has its upsides.
But there definitely are either less people or their destinations are all spread out. I hope they will improve it in the future. Sunset Valley overall just feels more developed.

After playing Sunset Valley I can see how Riverview would be a little bit of a let down.  It is small town and has more of a quiet feel to it.  I did find people would gather around the theatre, but also found if I went to the bar (forget the name) people would hangout with you there.

I guess River View is more for the fishers, painters and writers and Sunset Valley more for guitar players.
Haven't tried River View though, for now I'm content with Sunset Valley.

Hi there,  I had Don Lothario in Riverview being a rock star and his best spot was definitely in front of the theater, usually early afternoon and into evening.  What I especially liked was when he would play guitar, sims would gather and mostly after he was through, everyone who stayed, listened and tipped he had a friend status in relationship panel.  Great way to make friends!

This may not seem to exactly go with this topic, something else you guys can do, if they have alot of guitar skills and they are either a sports legend or rock star, have them sign autographs in front of theatre, then when they are done, there is a ton of people, have them play for tips, I must have had 40 people watching him play guitar, I have a pic of that one, I figured no one would believe me, lol. BTW, this is in sunset valley, you are right though, not much in Riverview, it is hard to find more than a handful of people.
