When The Cat's Away...
Jeffery has received some promotions. He insisted I come along also for the weekend away. Roland was due to go on a deep woods research hike for the lab. Dad was taking Mom away for the weekend. This meant our three teenagers would be alone...in the house. I don't think I'll find it in one piece!
Before we left we insisted on teaching all three kids how to drive. Hope, Faythe, and Jacob didn't object at all to the idea! I feel a bit safer though. At least now they can get off our little island if there is trouble. Roland insists that the trouble is on the island. However, the kids are practically grown. Also, who on earth is going to come over and babysit a bunch of teenagers for us? I just hope this top secret "party" isn't too wild. Actually I'd be happy if the house is still standing. Jeffery told me that's a good goal to have.
Sure enough there was a party. Jeffery got a call from his buddy on the police force. I'm afraid to ask how loud the music was. Our nearest neighbor lives over two miles away! I hope the kids had fun though. It is good that they are getting to know friends in the area. Jeffery laughs at me. He says I shouldn't be so happy they have friends. It'll be two weeks before the girls get out. Jeffery is certain Roland will be harsher on Jacob.
So why isn't there an owner's manual to moody teenagers? I think this grounding is lasting longer for me than it is for them. No offense but I"m ready to shoo these three teenagers out of the house and into town. I am desperate for a break!
For kicks and giggles any readers recognize this party goer?
If any of you like my writing and would like to see more. I have begun a new story. It's home will be solely on my blog. So click my signature picture below to check out, "Once Upon A Goth". I'm behind on updating the Millhams there so I recommend reading all those updates here through Carl's board.
