Closing the Past

Our little family feels complete now. Little Roland was born very quickly after Dad died. Holding him I felt so proud. Klara loves her little brother. Mom and I had a long hard talk. It was time I went and faced my past. My cousin Janie had called to let us know. German was sick. The Grim Reaper would come for him soon.

It has to be the hardest conversation I have ever held. I told him about his grandkids he never came to see. I told him about my childhood and life. I told him about Mom. The writings I found in this book. Mom truly did love him.

Then I saw what Mom saw in German. He was very apathetic. German was interested and even curious. There was no attachment or love there. German enjoys people and doesn't like being alone. However, he isn't a family man. I forgave him for that. I even invited Janie and the cousins over to come meet the kids.

It was my little girl's birthday. Klara's first day of school is on Monday. I think I already have a grey hair or two from the thought. She's such a smart little girl. I am so proud of her. A piece of me wishes I can keep her like this forever. This was the difference in me and my birth Dad. I wanted family and to be involved.

Mom has been getting some comfort lately. She is getting older. Also, Mom misses Ronny. Mom says she feels confident in me leading the household. She also has the utmost faith in Kanta to step up as the matriarch. I honestly expect her to go join our ancestors soon.

The boys grew up quickly. Keelai's Natan aged up first. He was born a few days before Roland. I must admit he is a cutie. Mom remarked about how much he reminded her of a Lai. Which is odd because Grandpa Jonah has been gone for a long time now. Keelai is proud of her little man.

One day we got the call. Janie told us German had passed. That was okay. He was an important chapter in our lives. Mom thanks him for giving her Kairen and myself. I thank him for the lessons learned. I have my job as a B Unit director and my kids. We are a great family.

Oh wow...I don't know how to feel about German. On the one hand he gave the world Antony and Kairen...but on the other he was rotten to poor Raquelle...hmmm...well R.I.P German. Thanks for the genes :P

Goodbye Raquelle
An Author's Perspective on a Generation

Well first off, I had this elaborate and hopefully funny post to say. Then I turned on my game. Raquelle in true form had another idea. I love her for it. So to start with the elaborate plan of mine.

In the story Rob is a prop on Antony's latest movie. He followed him home to work one day. Rob and Keelai hit it off. Well Keelai rolled the wish to kiss him after meeting Rob. So as a player I thought it made sense. What's more perfect than a vampire kid, normal Mom, and a simbot step-dad?

Before the wedding, Rob decided he wanted a bath. I shook my head and knew he'd short out. Sweet really he wanted to look his best. Thankfully Raquelle was willing to repair him before his private wedding.

That night Keelai, Rob, and Natan moved into their new home. Rosie had come to visit Raquelle. Rosie wanted to show off her latest dramatic attention getting techniques.

Then as Rosie and Raquelle played foosball there was a visitor. Raquelle was 89 days young. She really drove her own story. I as a writer will miss her. Here are some fun tidbits...
  • Raquelle proposed to German 8 times. Each time he refused Which has been dying off.
  • Technically she was dating German when Ronny came to put out a house fire
  • She was friends with practically the entire town. The phone has been ringing off the hook as this generation has been dying off
  • Patty Abe is still in town and pregnant. Poor stuck woman. No matter how many resets I give her. She's been pregnant the entire game
  • Hanna Lai (Jonah's sister) passed away after having seven kids of her own

After Raquelle was gone, Antony felt the need to do a mean thriller.

While Kanta got to know Grimmy. Black huh? Who woulda thought.

Now the house is down to only four people. Which hasn't happened in forever. Antony has rolled the wish to have another baby. He doesn't have the family oriented trait. Sooo I can't argue with him. There will be another pink purpley munchkin in the near future!

If at First You Don't Succeed...

Kanta and I had decided to have another nooboo. Kanta didn't want it to be too much younger than it's siblings. Unfortunately nature didn't cooperate. For years we tried but nothing worked. I wasn't worried. We enjoyed each other as a family.

Mom has been gone for a few years. We still lived in our small room on the other end of the house. It felt weird going down there. One day Kanta came and told me the sink had broken in there again. I walked in to fix it. The best thing was for us four to spread out into our own rooms. There really isn't any need to trip over each other in one room. Maybe Kanta would like to remodel the big room. This would make it feel more like ours.

Klara had reached the top of her class. It had been years since a family party was thrown. She asked to have all her Aunts and Uncles there. Kanta wore herself to the bone cooking beautiful dishes for everyone to enjoy. Everyone laughed and had a great time. Even Keelai and Laurlai got into the spirit of things. They went and changed outfits and played a switcheroo. Poor Hugo feels badly for kissing the wrong woman!

Sparkles filled the room as the candles were blown out. Klara had become a teenager. She's entering the world of boys and parties and...and...can I turn the clock back? I'd much rather go buttterfly hunting with her again. That sounds better than her growing up.

Klara insisted her little brother join the party with his own cake. He was excited squealing his little head off. When he grew up it was amazing how much he looked like me.

My little family was growing up fast. Kanta had news also. Our little family was growing in number too. I guess I better call the contractors and get to remodeling. It will be a great project for us to focus on. Especially now that Gila called to tell Kanta that their father had died.

*gasps* Poor Kanta! The fates can be so cruel. Maybe the happiness that accompanies a new nooboo will help ease the pain a little. Wow Klara grew up gorgeous! And you're right, Roland looks a lot like his daddy.

Whew here we go before my internet cuts out again. Also remember the Southeast in your thoughts and prayers. Joplin needs help desperately. Also there is a bad storm system headed this way expected to produce tornados. Remember us Southerners!

Years Fly By
Letters from Kairen

Dear Big Brother,

I love that you remember to write me! I really hope you can detect the sarcasm in my voice. Maybe I should be filling you in! Everyone in the family has been here to Shang Simla to visit except you! I know those kids of yours are old enough to travel now!

Your little Klara is quite the lovely young woman. She seems so good tempered. Also, I agree her traits are a dead ringer for Grandma Nadia's. Klara loves the outdoors and is a bit shy. You add her clumsiness and good sense of humor it's a perfect match! So how's keeping the boys away Dad? Have you caught her flirting in the pool with any boys yet? You know that's a Millham woman tradition!

Roland seems like an amazing little man. He has your jaw and Kanta's eyes. Did he tell you he wrote me the other day? Roland drew us pictures of the monster's he dreams of creating. Bryce adored reading his notes.

Now, dear big brother, I should beat you for letting a certain someone grow into a child before sending pictures!!

C'mon the unruly hair? Those big round eyes? Shame on you for not telling us about little Britania! You deserve every night that light sleeper kept you up. I don't care how good you said she is!

Klara said in her letter the little one loves playing the xylophone and fingerpaints. You just may have a little artist on your hands. She must have inherited that from Mom.

Brittania grew up beautifully. Antony stop worrying. All three of your kids are lovely. They seem to be well adjusted and popular. Klara raves about her girlfriends. Roland loves school. Things are different now. Shoot our brother-in-law is a Simbot!

We are nearing our elder years big brother. Can you believe it? Bryce and I have decided to come home. We have loved all our exotic travels. It's time to come home. See you soon and the family! We need to have a big dinner party. I have a BIG surprise to tell you!

See you soon,

Kairen

I know you told me Britania was pink, but I swear she looks more purple to me. And she really reminds me of Raquelle in some ways. I dunno mebbe it's the hair. Soooo what's Kairen's secret?
