Seasons Come and Go
Barnacle Bay had been changing. New families were moving into town. Rumors had it that there was a full vampire family living in town now. Clifton mentioned he had met them. They seemed much tamer than the plague ridden blood suckers we first discovered. The Kimbles just wanted to be and eat something called Plasma Fruit.
Captain Wayfair had blown back into town or so rumor had said. The last time I saw him was as a little girl. It was at a party my Mom had thrown. All of the old-timers of Barnacle Bay told stories of his daring do on the high seas. He also was generous and left his house on the beach open in case anyone needed it. Captain always did say "Nothing worse than having to go and no where to go in! " What an odd odd man come to think about it.
Dianne and Rosie came running in the day after Jerry's birthday into young adulthood. Dianne jerking on Rosie's arm squealing for her to tell me what she had seen. Apparently the two were over excited about more than an mere birthday party.
Panting Rosie jerked her arm free of Dianne's nails breathed, "Captain...Wayfair...has..two...twins.."
Dianne squealed, "No not two twins one set. Raquelle has two twins. Difference there!"
Rosie glared at Dianne, "Whatever, anyway the La Mer kids were at Jerry's party. They invited the new girls in town. The girls called themselves Kanta and Gila Wayfair. Apparently that old man has kids! Two girls identical but only one is blue!"
Dianne replied, "She looked more purple to me."
Rosie groaned, "Whatever her skin color isn't important! Especially in this family. Anyway the purple, blue, the smurf if you like..the important thing is she stared at Antony all night and they hit it off! "
I grinned unable to believe it. Here was an explanation for the increase in workouts. Antony spent most of his free time jogging anyway. His large stature made carrying weight hard. Lately, thought Antony was being very secretive about his workouts...and his late night phone calls.
Antony had told us he was taking a new girl in town to the charity dance off at The Grind. Ronny thought this was odd because Antony had never even been on a date before! Poor boy always tried. However, old prejudices die hard and the local girls would never look his way. Most of his approaches were scoffed. This always lead to Kairen beating up the girl in school the next day.
Sariah shared her pictures of the dance off. Apparently the girl is as intrigued in Antony as he is her. I hope this ends well. I couldn't bare to have his heart broken. I couldn't afford another girl's hospital room bill. Good news is that her twin Gila and Kairen are just alike. They giggled and talked the night away. Poor Bryce had to drag Kairen away for a dance or two. I hope he is able to get her to settle down soon. Ronny always states he'd like to see grandkids before he left this world. Shoot I'm not getting younger and I'd like to see them too!
Sariah also let us know that this dream was safe. She is "Dragging Ricard to Eugi's and coming home with a baby the day she grows up." I think I'm going to have to talk to her and quietly explain things again.
