WA ... China ... tombs disappeared

My Sim finished all the tombs in china but did not find the all the relics so I returned to china only to find that all the tombs and the forbidden city have disappeared (above and below ground).  This is the second time this has happened to one of my sims.  I wrote the earlier one off as a fluke but now I am wondering what is up and if there is a fix.

What exactly do you mean by disappeared?  Is anything in their place?  Is it just black?  Screenshots would be helpful, too.

Nothing there just green lots and barren hills (dragon and Terracotta) ... I can visit them but nothing (sadly ESP the market is gone) ... I have lost a few games to the dreaded blacked out squares.  Never got an answer from sims tech help on that one. I am unsure how to post a screen shot :/. This is not the same thing.

What you're describing is something I've never heard of.  Are you running any mods (modifications to the game)?  If so, it's quite possible that's the problem.  We strongly discourage the use of mods because they can often ruin your game.  What about the other locations?  Have they disappeared from France and Egypt also?

Unfortunately I have some mods ... I try go get them from safe places, but perhaps I need to dump them.  No it has only happened in china.  What about the black lot thing ... What caused that  (it was before mods)

I don't mean to speak badly of the sites you use for mods, but there are really no safe sites.  Anything that's not made by Electronic Arts has the potential to really mess up your game.  I'm going to remove the specific names from your post because we don't allow that specific information to be posted.

Have you done a complete uninstall/reinstall of the games and expansion/stuff packs?  It would probably solve some of your problems.  We have lots of information on the Technical Help board to help you save your game files and successfully reinstall the game.
