Sims are visible through floors

Hi folks!

I don't know if this is a bug but it really is very annoying. To make it short: I can always see my sims who are not on the floor on which I currently am. I.e. if, for instance, I am on the ground floor with two sims and I tell one of them to go cooking and the other one I tell to go upstairs to start painting, then I can always see the one who went upstairs trhough the ceiling.
Shouldn't I only be able to see him if I manually switch to the first floor? This gets really annoying, because I have 3 sims who sleep and work upstairs and I can always see them no matter on which floor I currently am in. Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

As you can see, everything is fine, all sims are on the ground-floor.





Now, I have sent one sim to the first floor to do some work and I still can see him from the ground floor "hovering" in mid air.

I can see what you mean on the second picture.  I didn't see anything on the first, but that is weird.  I have had that happen for a split second while the game was rendering, but it didn't remain that way. Maybe try putting a different floor down on the upstairs and then downstairs, put ceiling tiles.  I doubt that will work, but I imagine you would be willing to try anything.  Sometimes, houses get glitched and if you also try moving your house to another lot, that might work.  Good luck.

Also try resetting your Sim through testing cheat, restart the game.  If neither of these fix you problem, you might have a corrupted file.

Hi guys!

Well thanks for your replies! It seems that the problem is gone. As it turned out, upstairs there where some floor tiles missing. So after replacing the entire first floor with new tiles, the problem was gone. I also had to remove and replace all doors as those were also somehow corrupted. ( My butler couldn't get into her room, etc. ) Well, now everything is working again as it should; let's hope it stays that way! =)
