Makeovers - Ugly to Pretty! (Townies Only)

Morgana is actually gorgeous! I kind of knew that from other people's makeovers, but you did an A+ job.

I ended up making over some Bunches today. Wish I could say that I tackled a bunch of them (ha), but I found only Judy and Darlene.

Judy:

I don't really have much to say for Judy, but I thought that Darlene would be the sort of sim who would go through a harmless rebellious phase when she got older, and then stuck to it. She has a slightly odd face, but that messy braid suited it, and I guess everything else fell into place after that.

I love what you did with Darlene! Her hair is always a bit of a challenge for me as very few styles flatter her particular face shape, but this style fits her perfectly well.

So I've become pretty infatuated with Lucien Hyde. (Midnight Hollow). I don't quite know what it is about him but he's been in every legacy I've attempted.

But, I have to give him a slight makeover everytime I get control of him. This was just a quick one; and I like his clothing so I normally don't change that around.

So this is Lucien before:



And this is him after I've given him a simple makeover.



I prefer him with eyeliner (most of my male sims end up with it. I like the emo guys.  ), so I left that. The bright eyeshadow and lipstick had to go though. And, I figured a beard would define his face more. I've noticed that any children he has usually inherit his eye shape, at least.

So I've started playing a game in Sunset Valley with the Roomies household, and the first thing I did was give everyone a makeover. Some of them I like more than others, but I think most of them are pretty good.



First is Cycl0n3, my favourite Sim in the household. I had trouble choosing a hairstyle for him, and I'm not entirely satisfied with this one, but it works.



Next is Blair. Blair is tough because of her unique facial features. Tiny eyes, thin lips, tiny nose. I'm not too sure about her hair, either. I do like the pink, though.



Emma's makeover is probably my favourite. I didn't realize her favourite colour was black, so I ran with that and purple accents. I don't really see the need for her to lose any weight. I like her the way she is right now.



Stile's makeover... is a bit interesting. I had just picked up a few hairstyles from the Store, including the one he has right now. I thought that the colours looked remarkably like the Irish flag. I than thought that McGraw is an Irish name. (looking back, I think it might be Scottish, but I'm not sure) So I gave all his clothes a green and orange motif. It works surprisingly well.



And finally we have Tamara. Her makeover is much more muted. Just a chance in hairstyle and some minor clothing colour changes. I already liked most of her outfits from before.

I love what you did with Tamara in particular. Spiceberry is the perfect color for her and looks so much better than what she was wearing.

I did a couple of makeovers, mainly because I'm using these sims for my Random Town Jump founders, and they needed a makeover! They're from Moonlight Falls.

First up is Chauncey Grimm.

After. He does have a more casual everyday outfit, but I love this on him. I also like the Island Paradise hair on him, it makes him look a lot younger.


Next is Marigold Maldano.

After. Since she wants to be a gardener I gave her a more farmly/homely look. I also took her makeup off because it really didn't suit her.

Another makeover dump.

Erin Kennedy's original wardrobe confused me, mostly because her wearing a dress and heeled boots for her everyday outfit just seemed weird. To me, Erin seems like the woman who is ready for a run at a moment's notice. And because she's in the military, it makes more sense for her to keep her hair short (Note: I changed her hair color to make it more dusty brown than black; that style doesn't look great with really dark hair colors).



The rest of what I have involved aging original children/teens up to young adult.

River McIrish was pretty easy, except for the hairstyle. She has quite a chin, so a few styles emphasized it in the wrong ways. But yeah, clothing was easy. River is an artsy type, and if she was packaged with Ambitions instead of the base game, I bet she would be Eco-Friendly. I tried to reflect that.



With Lisa Bunch, well, I know that she'd probably suit something rebellious, but all I could think of was how much she reminded me of Marie Schrader from Breaking Bad (not really in looks, but they have similar personalities, and they both like purple). It rubbed off on the makeover too, because Lisa ended up really tidy-looking instead of like a punk.



VJ Alvi went through the same tidying-up, but it's mostly because I thought of what a snobby punk would look like and came out with VJ dressed in a nice vest. I also dyed his eyebrows black; it made no sense for them to be blue.



I also gave Miraj a makeover, but he was very easy. Put-together and not particularly daring when it comes to fashion. But I think that he's just plain adorable after the makeover.

I love what you did with all of them, the Alvi boys in particular. VJ's look suits him particularly well, and you made Miraj look just plain adorable.

Hi silversim, and welcome to the forum. While your makeovers are nice, they do breach the thread's rule about custom content use:

Rules for This Thread

1.  No more than 10 images per post.
2.  If the images are moved or deleted from the hosting site (like Photobucket), the post will be removed with no notice.
3.  No third party content is allowed in the makeovers.  It must all be done with standard Sims 3 clothing, makeup, and hair.
4.  Only townies can be shared here.  A townie is a Sim who lives in town at the start of the game.  No CAS made Sims, no NPC Sims, and no newcomer Sims.
5.  Identify the townie with the Sim's name and the name of the town where he/she lives.

I'm not saying that you should remove your post, but keep that rule in mind in the future.

@Trip: I LOVE your makeover of Erin Kennedy, she's one of my favorite SV townies.

She married one of my Insane sims and he made her a new dress:



Of course, this makeover isn't exactly ugly to pretty, it's more like pretty to "WTH did you do to me?!" 

It should surprise no one that Erin never wore this dress.  xD

linmayu...oh my word. It's a good thing I'm downstairs and away from sleeping people as that seriously made me laugh out loud. Poor Erin!

So I decided to tackle one of the more notorious families from the Twinbrook gene pool: The Bayless clan. This is less of an ugly-to-pretty than it is clean them up and still fit their personalities sort of deal.

First off, the family patriarch:



Skeet, avid fisherman, outdoorsman, and father. There is a serious lack of male hairstyles that are truly able to cover the signature Bayless ears, but this one from Supernatural works to somewhat mask their size. I put him in an outfit that befits his outdoorsy nature, something that you'd expect your average guy to wear if he's heading out for a day on the pond with his rod and reel.



I see Gwayne as being all about practicality and comfort, particularly given that she shares the same hobbies as her husband. Of course, being a journalist, she needs to clean up a little bit if she's going to be out interviewing people. The hat was the first to go, but I kept her glasses (they offset her face shape quite nicely), gave her a slightly more feminine top, and a pair of nice jeans to complete the look.

Now for their two children: (aged up to YA)



I gave Chase a playful look, a combination of outdoorsy and slightly flirty. That hairstyle from Late Night does wonders for both covering her ears and framing her face, and the rest of it just came together.



Tay's appearance seems to suit a more nerd-ish look. There is no hiding the ears really, but the fly-away hairstyle from University softens the impact a bit. I also added eyeglasses to take the attention away from the ears and his rather odd-shaped eyes. Orange and brownish-black checked flannel, jeans, and hiking boots create the rest of the look. The bracelet is just for kicks.
