Frozen Sims request
« on: February 24, 2011, 04:12:50 PM »
Hi all, I'm looking for a way to make frozen sims. I know that with The Sims 2 it was possible to effectively turn a sim into a statue like sim when building on a lot where just a sim was visiting. I don't know if this is possible in The Sims 3 also, but I personally don't have the material to test it right now.
If anyone can confirm this will work, or know a way to do it in another way than please let me know. I must have frozen sims for a future video.

The only way I have found till yet, is to have high sculpting skill, and then ask a sim to pose. You can then build a statue of him, but you cannot turn that sim in statue. ;)

Leto, I think the visiting Sim will pose if your Sim asks them to.  I don't know how long they will stay frozen, but when my Sim asked another Sim to pose so she could take a picture of them, the other Sim was frozen in place for a minute or too while my Sim was fidgeting with her camera  :).

Hmm, okey. Thanks guys but that wasn't really what I was looking for.
But still I'm glad reading your posts. Now I know two more ways not to try it. :P

SimBot might be great a solution. Just have one Short Out, and it'll stay there for at least 4 hours. If you want a Sim, then turn on static needs cheat, and the Sim will stand there, doing nothing (if you don't command anything). Or try getting a Sim in a fixed position, and then enter the Buy Mode. There, turn on moveobjects cheat and move the Sim wherever you wish.
Well, that's your opinion, isn't it? And I'm not about to waste my time trying to change it. - Lady GaGa

That would have worked indeed if I didn't need to go to Tab mode (which only is accecable through Live mode) from where I can start filming in angles and movements you normally can't do in whatever mode you are.

Besides that, I need a sim that stand completely still. Pauze the game might not be an option as I need to have the environment just floating by as it normally does.
Working with greenscreen might be possible, but I still have to test this.
