New Child and Toddler Interactions
« on: December 20, 2009, 11:58:28 PM »
The latest patch brings new interactions between children and toddlers!  Squeeee!!  Now children can give toddlers a bottle, give a hug, and play peek-a-boo.  It's just about the cutest thing I've ever seen.  Right up there with talking to a toddler through a teddy bear!

They could do all those things before the patch.

Not in my game.

Edit: I checked the official Sims 3 forum about this and there have been lots of people complaining about the lack of child/toddler interaction.  So, I don't think it's been available since the release of the game.  Perhaps it's not from this most recent patch, but it's at least fairly new.

Peek-a-boo was an interaction that came later on in the sims 2 game and I really liked the interaction.  It's definitely an "awww" type of interaction in families.  In sims 2 it was only the adults who could do this with toddlers.  I like it much better when the youths do it to the lil ones.  ;D

Aww, it's nice to see they are bringing back some of the child and tot interactions.  I don't play families much, so I haven't checked any of those out.  Have they brought back some of the more umm...fun interactions?  Like torment?  8)  Giving noogies (teen)? Bah haaa ha....What's good without bad....  :o, lol  ;)

All of these interactions have been available in my game at least since WA came out, as I didn't put in the new patch until yesterday or raise any kids since it came out.

Yeah, it could be new stuff with the release of World Adventures and not the most recent patch.  It's still new and awesome, though!  :D

I think you're right. If you look at the list of changes for the 1.5/1.6 update (the one released just before WA) it lists a lot of new interactions for babies, toddlers and children.

Pam, I'm surprised that with your output of babies you haven't noticed before. :D

I don't think this is anything new to the game, but it's new to me!  And I can't believe that I never realized this before now.  If you put more than one toddler at the blocks play table, they will talk to each other and their relationship bar will increase.  I've seen complaints about how toddlers grow up together and play side by side, but they are strangers when they age up to child.  That was something I didn't like, either.  But tonight I put little Demeter and Hestia Argos at the blocks table together and they are actually getting to know each other.  It's cracking me up because they have the speech bubbles pop up to show what they're talking about.  They talked about the pond, bodybuilding, trash, and painting.  It's so cute!!  And best of all, they won't be strangers when they age up!

Amazing! I've got twins and at the minute they're just acquaintances, so now I can't wait to get WA then maybe they can actually befriend each other while they're toddlers :D
Unless of course its already in the base game and they just really can't be bothered with one another...
Grr Argh!

Now if only they would give me the baby on a grill interaction.  ;D

I do miss some of the family interactions from TS2.

My sim would be fiendishly delighted.
