Thomas and Metropolis Man helped me run a test on .Sims3pack files. I was able to install them, and Metro was able to install them on his mac. The current stance is move forward and upload your Sims3Packs without compressing them and we'll find workarounds for people who cannot download and install the files. So it will work for 95% of you as it stands and we'll figure out the rest as issues arise.

Sorry guys, even the dedicated server support I talked to can't help me through this issue so the result is a little less work for the uploader (no zipping) and we'll figure out the folks who can't get them because of the file extension.

I have no problem in dowloading anything from the swap shop.  I just save it desktop, click on the icon, extract the file, double click the item and it downloads.  At first I my launcher would freeze when I tried that, the only step I left out, was extracting the file.  Good job you guys.  I think I have almost everything in the swap shop, lol.  Thanks for a job well done.  Your awesome.

Edit:  Ok, maybe I am having a senior moment, what new section?  There is tab that says "Download Sims3 Pack", is that what you are talking about, because when I click on that, nothing happens.  Let me know if I am looking in the wrong spot.

I just tried Thomas's Cherry SwimWear full body from the new SwapShop Board - Works fine.
I use a Mac and Safari. I clicked the download file in Thomas Post, it downloaded right to my downloads folder, clicked it from there,
Launcher opened, and it is now in my Sims 3 Game Launcher Downloads area ready to be installed.

Thanks Jancy. I might be wrong about the circumstance that led people to have trouble when I first started the Swap Shop on the guide end. I was sure that people had trouble downloading them without zips. Maybe it was just one person, and I'm way off! Let's hope so because that would mean this is already 100% working and we're done here. That would be a dream for me as much as I wrestled with this one. Don't hesitate to give me the bad news... I'm around practically waiting on it so I can deal with it as soon as it comes up.

Your Welcome Carl and Thank You - I just downloaded Anushka's Perfect Garden and it worked the same way as in my above post.
No Problems at all on my end - it's in the Sims 3 Launcher Downloads and ready to be installed.

I use IE and am on a PC but I downloaded Thomas's Cherry Top with no problems.  Was fast and easy!   I also tried it using Chrome and it worked well using that system too.   I can't wait to see what I will download next !  Thanks for setting it up this way Carl.

Pardon me for my overexcitment here, but this is so cool! It looks like just the right system for sharing content here at the forum. I've just gone and established my own page there, so hopefully I'll be able to move the last batch of content there myself soon. I'll also have to download some of the other members' stuff after lunch. This is awesome!
