Which Sims 3 Neighborhood Do You Prefer?
« on: February 23, 2011, 09:58:23 AM »
I'm interested which town do you prefer to play in most. It doesn't mean you need to say Sunset Valley just because your Sim lives there. Maybe you like Bridgeport. I've not listed World Adventures locations, because those are sub-neighborhoods. You can vote for just 1 town, but you may change your vote anytime you wish. Thanks. I personally prefer Twinbrook.

So far my choice would be Barnacle Bay, although I don't nearly play it enough. Right now I'm too busy exploring Twinbrook and Bridgeport. I do love Sunset Valley though. My least favourite is Riverview.

Thanks for voting. :) I don't have Barnacle Bay, but I like it too. I ensure you that you'll be satisfied by exploring Twinbrook. Be sure to check for the two graves: one in the junkyard and the other one behind the Laundromat. I think that 2 deceased Sims were twins.

Also, I would like to encourage voters to also leave some comments to explain their choice. Thanks.

I used to love sunset Valley, and I still know it best. But I've found in the last year that I absolutely love Riverview. Especially with Ambitions and Late Night additions. The empty lots and the bridges, the little suburban area for families, complete with a personal park geared towards the little guys, it's all fantastic. I especially love the Watering Hole and Warehouse. I've recently turned the Watering Hole into a dive bar, and the Warehouse into a Dance Club, at least I think that's what it's called. The only problem I find is that all of the eligible bachelors are rich, so I tend to make couples for Riverview. Or just not have Sims get married during the first generation. I also love the garden and the library, the library is lots of fun for books, especially because it's located so close to workplaces! And the garden is great for beginner gardeners to gain some valuable harvestables and skill points!

Thanks for voting. It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who loves quiet suburban areas in towns. Riverview is by far my other favorite, but, unfortunately, I don't have it.

Riverview is free.  It's definitely worth getting.

It's really a toss up between Barnacle Bay and Riverview for me, but in the end I went with Barnacle Bay.  My Immortal Dynasty family is there, so I've been playing it quite a bit lately.  The townies there are much more colorful than they are in Riverview.

Bridgeport is my least favorite town, for no other reason than it takes half a day to get across town thanks to the subway system.

Hunter Cottoneye isn't rich.

Do you like the Caliente sisters? I love them. It's yet another hard decision to choose between the two towns for a devoted Sims 2 player, as Don Lothario is in one town, the Calientes are in the other. Of course, you could always use the Edit Town.
And as of Bridgeport: you can always use the Teleportation Pad, or cheat to teleport... If I had Bridgeport, I'd vote for it, I'm surprised how no one voted for it.   ::)
Oh, where are my manners, thanks for voting!  :D

If you had Bridgeport, you'd see what everyone else sees wrong with it.  :P  There are no available apartments larger than 1 bedroom, and sims will climb out of their limo to ride the subway.  And riding the subway takes forever.  You leave for the club about 6pm, you arrive at 9pm, you leave the club at 2am, and get home at 5am.  Travel times are ridiculous, and the only reasonable way for sims to get around is to use cheats...which doesn't work for those of us who don't like using them, except under the most dire circumstances.

Lol, they are really ridiculous, I would have never imagined that. In Sunset Valley max is 30 minutes (fast car) and 1-1,5 hours (taxi).

I need to download Riverview and Barnacle Bay but out of the three I have currently (Sunset Valley, Twinbrook and Bridgeport) Sunset Valley is still on top. As I always find, the first is best and that's certainly the case here. It's colourful, happy, relaxing. I've not played much Twinbrook and although it is a bit bigger I don't find it as interesting to look at.

Bridgeport is just different and that's all I'm going to say. It's big, which is good, and gives the game some variety. After all, it's the only city. In terms of stuff to do, Bridgeport is streets ahead from the others. As others have said though, travelling round the city couldn't be harder.

I agree with you completely, but for me Twinbrook is a bit more interesting after some time than Sunset Valley. Bridgeport is a city indeed. And thanks for voting!  :)

P.S. Woo! I posted my 200th comment!  :D

I voted Sunset Valley partly because of the landscaping and the beaches. But I am intrigued by DeNile's comment about Riverview being the best after adding the Late Night buildings. I have great plans for the island in the river after I install NL.

I vote for Bridgeport. In Bridgeport, even NPCs and maids have homes in apartments. And there is a great rock and roll.

But I do love Twinbrook's public facilities and Sunset Valley's open atmosphere. I also like Barnacle Bay's great fishing sites and beaches, and Riverview's beautiful setting, farms and river.

All the towns are great. It depends on what type of sim you are playing.

Riverview is by far my other favorite, but, unfortunately, I don't have it.

Sunset Valley, beacuse it's pretty much the only one my computer can handle.
