Question about fertilizing plants
« on: September 24, 2009, 09:46:11 PM »
I understand the importance of fertilizing your plants to get them to produce better fruits and veggies, and to raise the level on the plant itself.  My question is this, once I have gotten my money trees to perfect status, is their a reason to keep fertilizing them?  With the crop of money bags be bigger, or am I at that point wasting my life fruit?  Thanks for any replies to this question.

From what I have seen and read from the guide, fertilizers reduce the days in between stages so the plant can jump to the next stage faster. Grapes can be harvested everyday as long as they still have decent fertilizers.
If your money trees can be harvest everyday consecutively then you need not fertilize it.

I have almost 40 money trees.  They seem to produce more bags of money if they are kept fertilized.  They still produce, but not as much.  And I believe the individual bags may be worth more when it's kept fertilized.  Vampire fish also makes an excellent fertilizer, probably as good as life fruit.  If you have the Omni Plant, you can make as many vampire fish as you need without having to keep fishing for them.

This is covered in the fertilizer guide. One of my scientifically discovered facts was:

High Grade fertilizer will reduce the time it takes for a plant to grow harvestables
. All the plants that usually take three days fall to two, and plants which used to produce every two days now produce every day.

What we could determine is if fertilizer affects the money trees' bag value.

Thank you all for your responses.  I had read that guide with several others some weeks ago and must have missed that statement. *hangs head in shame*  I guess it is time to go back and read some of those guides again. LOL

Hey it's all right, Pam and I were discussing your question, and I had to go back and reference my own gardening guide to confirm something. I have written for 2 months and there are 108 pages so far here. There's a lot to swim through. Questions like yours help me to learn a bit more, and if someone finds this thread in google they'll find the answer they seek. Unless it's something really silly and easy to find I hope anyone feels comfy to ask ANY question here  ;)

That's right.  The fertilizer affects the money tree significantly.  In my opinion, the best fertilizer ever would be the life fruit.  And just trying to get the vampire fish on the Omnis would be efficient, really.  The books on Omnis really work and just having some life fruit so they don't go wasted.

Also, I was wondering how much was the biggest amount of money you have harvested, people?

Oh, ok.  I don't know the answer to that one.  I don't pay attention to the value of the individual bags.  There are too many of them to try to keep track of that!  :D

The value of the biggest bag of money you have harvested is listed in your gardening journal.  My current biggest bag is around 1,100 simoleans.

Well, don't I feel silly!  Lol.  Of course it's in the gardening journal!  My biggest money bag is $1,089.  That's in my Legacy family, from the restored dead founder.  She's apparently harvested $1.2 million all together.

It was 1.2mil yesterday morning because I stopped playing sims when I thought i lost my save while it was cut to somewhere else. So after a month, I found it and yesterday I exploded it. Hehe.  So 1.7 mil in a day isn't bad.

I had the last 2 farming opportunities in 1 day also. I guess I played for 16 hours. You could call me sims freak yesterday. Hehe.

Oh, by the way, it`s 3.3 mil now. :P
