Could be. What made you think it is that game?
Carl mentioned somewhere that he was an avid Diablo player. (I think.)

EDIT: Did some Google searching and found this. Wow, he really is a busy bee! :o

:o ::)

Didn't know he's so busy! I'll instantly have a look at Civilizations guide, I really need to improve at that game. :)

Lol where does he find the time to do all that?

I see he's got a Runescape guide, too.  I've played that game quite a bit.

It's probably his job. You can make money out of accepting commercials on selfmade websites that are growing in popularity.
But people, let's get back on topic please. For further questions about side-topic things you could pm me if you want.

I'm going to keep it off topic a moment longer to answer some of these questions.

Carl's newest guide is the Starcraft 2 Guide.  He's working on it at the moment to get it finished.  He does play Diablo and hopes to put out a guide when Diablo 3 comes out.  There will also be a Carl's Sims Medieval Guide.  Yes, he's very busy.  Being Webmaster for all these sites is a lot of work...  much more than most people realize, unless they've had websites of their own.

Ok, I think I covered everything.  Carry on.  :)

Which is something I am planning to do later on. ;)
Thanks for the explanation Pam. Perhaps it is a good thing to link some of his websites on the Sims site in a sort of Side Section, so people could see his other work.

So I would like to know, do we have bosses in part-time jobs?

While in reality you would, in the Sims you don't.  There is no real way to improve your job performance outside of elevating the sim's mood.

Is that so? I've never tested it myself, but I simply assumed you will work under someone in a part time job. You can actually jump the career ladder one or two stages I thought.

Nope, no boss and no co-workers.  The only 3 options for what to do at work are "Business as Usual," "Work Hard," and "Take it Easy."

I just purchased the stadium, and my sim is already working there as a Superstar Athlete. Surprising that his boss is on even lower rank than him. I will try to 'fire my sim's boss'. ;)

I can't help but hijack the topic for a post after reading all that...

Being a student, I made time for the web. I'm not currently enrolled in college so I write full time at the moment. Some of my older work was just practice. I didn't really care about quality too much back then. I was just looking to make a fast buck :)

The only work on carlsguides.com that was released in recent history is the Civilization 5 articles. In some ways, I wanted to make a full site for that game because you could go on for hours about strategy and still find something new to write about. Instead I use that old site as a platform for when I need to put up a miscellaneous article like that. Sometimes I wake up determined to write an article and whatever I'm playing is fair game :)

Otherwise, that site is like a memorial for all the dead walkthroughs I've written ;)

In another life I would have registered a domain years ago when I first wrote about runescape. It got more traffic than anything I'd ever written. I just didn't have the follow-through back then.

I don't like to do "just walkthroughs" like I did back then, and prefer to make full out strategy guides now that can compete with Prima and Bradygames guides. That's what I am doing with Starcraft 2. It deserves a lot of refinement and I'll hopefully get tips/suggestions there as I have here.

If you own the place that your sim works, can you fire him/her?

I thought to remember that that exactly was the reason why I've opend this topic. But I still don't know. :)
But now I think about it: I do believe that you can only see which sims in that building there is a boss once you also do the job that particular building was designed for. Still I can not confirm this.
