Game Clock Question
« on: February 14, 2011, 03:48:36 PM »
Hi Everyone,

Is there an easy way to tell what game week you are in and how old your sim is?  I keep seeing references in dynasty and legacy stories about a sim being a certain age at death or event occurring at Week X Day Y but haven't figured out how to get that information on my sims yet.  I know how to check life stage on the simology panel and can see the current day of the week and time, but I think I'm overlooking something.

Thank you for your help!

Kat

The game clock is located directly below your Sim's lifetime wish box. Just mouse over it and you'll see Weeks/Days.

For the Age of Elder sims when they die jsut hover over their age bar, this also tells you how many days of each lifespan they have left. For Elders 90 Days is the Normal Minimum they live for. Your Game Time is as Metro said.  ;)

The only problem is however that there is no way to see in which week your sim is because despite the 7 days of the week the only other thing the game is mentioning is years when it comes to nectar.
For the rest, you have to note down week 1, 2, 3 totally yourself I'm afraid. I wish I had an answer though, as I really could use that myself also.

@Leto:  I'm a little confused by your response.  If you hover over the game clock as Metro said, the week and day will appear.  For example, it will say week 7, day 3.  That tells you that you've been playing for 7 Sim weeks and 3 Sim days.

I think that Leto may have been referring to the day a particular sim was born.

Yes, I was indeed.
But what you say Pam I wasn't even aware off! The game is counting the weeks since the beginning of when you have started the savefile or since the week you have created the first sim in that family? I can't check it myself now, as my sims computer is temporally disconnected.

The counter starts as soon as you start playing, so I guess it's both "start of the savefile" and "first sim made in the family". Alternatively, I may not have understood what you meant.

The alternative is that I create a new game (counterclock week 1, day 1) but load an already created family saved from another save file right out of the Library (played till week 18, day 6 for example). So what the game will do now, I think, is eighter keep counting from week 1, day 1 or further from week 18, day 6.
That was what I was wondering.

You'd be creating a brand new neighborhood/file despite the fact that you've already played the family pulled from the Library for a while. The game clock will still begin at Week 1, Day 1.

Pitty, I was afraid of that actually. Sometimes I had to switch my multi-generation over and over again to new towns to avoid the newly created bugs in previous save files.

@Katluvr: I am going to send you an e-mail because I really want to know how you've created that cool signature of yours. It's to much off topic to ask you here so please check your inbox within 3 minutes. ;)
