Gallery Reopened

I decided to make a new topic for this issue so that everyone who uses the feature can be aware -- the gallery is frozen in place for now. We have something corrupted in the installation and I'm going to have to reinstall it and get everything back to full functionality. Rest assured the images there are all safe on my hard drive and are still showing on the forum as they are all linked.

I deleted the index file from the gallery so that no one can go there and upload for now. I don't want anything to be lost.

It was still working for uploads, and things were getting put into the right place, but we were all Simstar. This tells me the database itself has met with some unfortunate event that has thrown it off and I think it's related to us running out of disk space yesterday, which I corrected quickly. However the system may have taken measures to free it up and caused an issue.

This was the worst case scenario and we were prepared for it -- Pam and I both had backups so I will take up working on this within the next day or two and try to get everything operating as usual.

I have restored everything fully and the gallery's working again. It should be in the state we left it just before things got crazy. Please press Control+F5 to reload pages as you may still experience the issue until your browser's cache is up to date.

Yes, my account was just approved and it works spectacularly.  And I wasn't Simstar.  Not that that's a bad thing...I just like being me.

I had an odd moment with the Gallery.  I clicked the link to the Gallery and when it appeared, it was in a different language to English.

The 'tabs' across the top read: Beginpagina / Registreer / Inloggen / Albumjist / Zoek

I pressed Inloggen to see what would happen if I logged in and it took me to a log-in screen that was in English.  I've logged in and everything is back to English.  I've found my uploaded pictures and all is fine.

I thought I'd let you know, just in case anyone else had the same problem and were, initially, as confused as I was.

That is very strange. Thanks for giving us a heads up. I hope it was a temporary quirk. If it comes up again I'll have to investigate.

That language is Dutch. That's odd.
If you need some translation: Beginpagina = Homepage / Registreer = Register / Inloggen = Login / Albumlijst = Albumlist / Zoek = Search.

Just a quick question:  Is there a way to create separate folders for pictures uploaded for better organization?  I looked for a way to do this, but couldn't see how.

Click on Files in the menu bar at the top of the Home page, then click Albums.  This takes you to the Album Manager where you can create a new album.
