And hopefully a little more light, every dance club in Bridgeport is lighted about as well as a natural cave *sigh* Sometimes if you have the right mixology drink, non party animal Sims can get a chance to table dance also.

Maybe that's why Jess was dancing on the bar - she definitely doesn't have the PA trait and she's about as straight laced as they come.  Only Jocelyn has less sense of fun.

I'm definitely improving the lighting - adding some big windows and making it not quite so industrial.  I'll post pics when I'm done.

Not Quite the Girl Next Door

Jenni is sailing through grade school with straight A's, but she would much rather be playing with her friends or hanging off the monkey bars in the back yard.  She has a wild streak in her and I suspect it will get worse before it gets better.  Even so, Grace and I couldn't be more proud of her.

Her birthday dawned bright and sunny, and we decided to celebrate with just the family.  She aged up beautifully.  Grace and I decided to spoil her a little, so we sent her for a day at the spa and a shopping spree.  Needless to say, we were a bit surprised when she got home...

She traded in her beautiful, long hair for a mohawk?!!!  And the clothes!  She told me her jeans were 'distressed'.  I'll tell her a thing or two about distressed...sending your baby girl out for a day of pampering and having her come back home dressed like a bum and looking like Mr. T's love child!  All I can say is it's a good thing Dad isn't here to see this.  If he weren't already dead this would kill him for sure!

Grace tells me I'm over-reacting, that it's just a stage that all teenagers go through.  I don't know, I've looked at the pictures from when the rest of my family was this age and they all looked neat and fashionable.

That evening after dinner Jenni begged to meet some friends at a dance club in town.  Little did I know...

When she finally came home at 4:30 in the morning I grounded her for the rest of her life.  She just laughed at me and then sat down to do her homework before heading to bed for the rest of the day.  I swear she must be part vampire.

The elders are no help at all - in fact they are encouraging this behavior.  They say that she's just being a teenager and she has the rest of her life to be serious.  They say she has a good head on her shoulders and I should relax and trust her.  I say I want some of whatever they've been smoking!

Grace finally calmed me down to the point where my head was no longer in danger of exploding.  I decided to go practice my guitar a bit.  Ever since I retired from nectar making I've been hanging around the theater making contacts and picking up gigs.  Who knows, maybe I'll have a second career in music since retirement doesn't suit me very well.

Grace excused herself to go take a nap.  Her absent-mindedness made a brief appearance because she decided to sleep in Grandma Jori's bed.  Not that it really matters, Grandma Jori is always at the consignment store or in her zen garden.

The house was suddenly thrown into an uproar.  All the elders raced up the stairs...Jenni and I followed, curious to see what had spooked the herd.

Grace shimmered and sparkled like a diamond.  She looked at Jenni and me, smiled, and whispered 'I love you'.  Then she calmly shook hands with Grim, who escorted her away.

We were all inconsolable, except for Mom who is a bit stone hearted about these things.  Jenni seemed to take it harder than any of us.  I knew this day would come, but knowing doesn't make it any easier when the time comes.  She's just a child, even though she would have us believe otherwise, and she needs her mom.  Why did Grace have to be a babysitter?!  *sob*  Even knowing how this has turned out, I would do it all over again.  Grace was the love of my life.  Thank goodness Jenni and I have a house full of family to help us get through this.

Happy birthday Jenni!

R.I.P. Grace. Thank you for your part in this Dynasty.

Happy birthday Jenni Carmen! Wow, you are gorgeous. :o
Maybe, Grace was too much into cooking so they remember her as a pot? ;D

I knew Grace would not be with the family much longer and still I was shocked to see her go so soon. She had a happy life though, and I'm very happy she was able to talk to Jamie about Jenni's recalcitrant teen style. Hopefully he'll honour her input and be supportive of Jenni instead of strict and overprotective! Although... maybe that's just a dad's perogative when it concerns his little princess.

On that note, Jenni's teen makeover is just awesome! The hair, the clothes, the whole style, it really suits her!

My first thought was: "What's that tray of food doing there?". To me it looked like one of those dinner trays you get in fancy hotels and restaurants; but that can't be right! Grace's lovely face was supposed to be there!

My first thought when I saw it was they were all thinking 'her goose is cooked' or maybe 'she's all done'.  I've never seen it before, but my game is getting all wonky now because of the size of the file.  Perhaps it's something to do with that.
