Guitar Star Challenge

I wish EA would fix that guitar star challenge too, but I doubt they will.

Didn't we sort of figure out that it wasn't a bug?  It's about completing enough guitar opportunities around down and you need to have no other skills to get them to pop up often enough.

Imagine if you couldn't ever get the Omni plant unless Gardening was the only skill your sim had??

Yeah, I wouldn't classify it as a bug anymore now that I know the specific technique to accomplish it (guitar and nothing else). It's hard and it requires patience. But, it's not bugged.

That would be extremely difficult considering it's gardners who do Omni plants.

Sims wiki says it's bugged and I would tend to agree since you can't complete it without cheats or just lazing around with a one skill only sim.

I am SO happy and PROUD! I finally completed this! I started a new Sim and was doing something else, then decided he only had guitar so I thought I'd try it. Took him 9 weeks, but I am so happy about this, I thought I'd share! He is the ONLY Sim I have ever had to complete it!

One thing that affects tips is performances. I just got my sim (he's currently a back-up vocalist with level 10 guitar) to perform at home, but only for a couple seconds per performance. In his journal it says he performed compositions about 70 times and he currently makes about $300 per tip. hope this helps

Can somebody please confirm that this challenge isn't bugged since the release of Late Night? I am really struggling. I started keeping track in my play a few hours ago since it seemed that my sim had done way more than 10 guitar challenges. I'm up to four, in addition to what I'm fairly certain was seven yesterday (for those who don't want to do the math, that's 11). He has no other skills, but the challenges aren't coming in fast enough to get this done in time for him to also complete his (skill related) LTW at this rate.

It may very well be fixed now and instead of just doing any 10 guitar ops, you may now actually have to do 10 performances at various parties/venues around town like the skill description says. I have not tested it myself.

I have an op up right now but am building. I will see what happens and if this doesn't do it, I'll try the venues/parties to see what that brings about. This has been exhausting because there is so much waiting involved. To be honest, I'd rather just do your exploit and make all the money that way. At least I feel as though I have some control over it, you know?
