Inventory issue on PS3
« on: February 09, 2011, 09:44:42 AM »
Hi, I have recently had an inventory issue on the PS3.  I have been playing for awhile and decided to get my sim into gardening.  I planted a small garden in the back yard and then the next day my inventory went blank.  I tried to harvest my garden after everything grew but it wouldn't show up in the sims inventory or the household inventory.  But if I chose "fertilize" everything I should have had shows up in there.  It makes it difficult to grow things when you pick up a seed and it disappears therefore I can't place it or plant it.  Also I cannot sell anything I have grown since it doesn't show up.  Same thing with my other sim who is a fisherman.  Fish won't show up in the inventory, but can use them for fertilizer.  Also I can use the harvested crops for bait but they still don't show up in the inventory.

Anybody else had this problem or know of anyway around besides restarting?  I was finally get some good cash and time to work on hobbies.

Is it just one household? Have any great change happened recently; marriage, birth, moving and the like? I've never heard of this before.

Just one household (I think that's all you can have in the console version), 2 sims.  Nothing really changed, I haven't used any cheats or the console "karma" powers.  Between the time a planted the first little garden (I think three tomato plants, a couple lettuce and an apple tree) and when my inventory (the personal sim inventory and/or household) went blank nothing had really happened except going to work.  I noticed the first time I went to harvest (a couple days later for those plants) that nothing showed up in the inventory and that I had lost some stuff, however the inventory bar shows the inventory is still about a third full and everything shows up if I try to fertilize the plants (not sure what good fertilizing an apple tree with a grape seed would do though).  I tried picking up new seeds from around the neighborhood and for some reason the only ones that would show up in my inventory were the "unknown" ones, all others didn't show up (but uncut jewels and space rocks did).

Also to make it stranger, the sim was working in the garden after the inventory went blank, she got hungry and pulled an aplle out to eat.  Also if I go to the market an option still opens up to sell the produce that I harvest (but doesn't show up) and it works fine.  I just can't plant anything new or carry on the good plant lines.

Try to sell off everything - fish, food, seeds, rocks, gems - you don't even need to save afterwards; just try once to see if it works. I remember there's an issue with death flower seed on the PC so it may be you have one glitched object in the inventory, so if you have found a way to remove things from your inventory you should try it.

Thanks for the tip.  I used everything I could as fertilizer and bait but it still didn't work.  The inventory bar still showed I had about a third full.  On a different note I found that I could get unlimited cash by selling my produce at the market as it wouldn't take anything out of the inventory but would still pay me for what I should have had.  I could just keep going in and selling the same things.

Anyway, without an inventory there is a lot of things I won't be able to accomplish so I things it's about time to start over.

Thanks again.
