Are ghosts supposed to pass through walls and objects?

Simply put, my ghosts can't -- they get upset just like a living sim does when their paths are blocked. Do they only pass through objects? What about in an apartment? Neither my playable ghosts nor ones out haunting can do it.

Doing a google search just brings up people mentioning that ghosts can, in fact, move through walls. Has that been changed? Is there some fix I can do? Any ideas?

I have some questions to understand your problem:
1. To which patch are you patched up to?
2. Are you using custom content or mods?
3. Which expansion/stuff packs do you have?
4. Is this problem occurring with all your saved games, or just this one?

And, as far as know, ghosts do have the ability to pass through walls. At least my ghosts do.

Beyond the base game I have WA, Ambitions, and LN. I don't have Fast Lane or High End. The only custom content I have is bought from the official store with the $10 credit from LN, and the only [edited for mention of mods- gerrr00].

HOWEVER, I did some puttering around and found out that only my apartment ghosts can't walk through walls/objects -- this is true for both a saved game and a new game. In both cases the ghosts could only move through walls on residential lots. Can anybody confirm that this is the case for them?

Whoops! Sorry about that. I had read the forum rules, but I must have slipped up since I was directly asked about any mods I ran. To anybody addressing my question, the mod is a minor code fix (not some huge overhaul) and therefore shouldn't be the problem.

No harm done.  I see where you were asked about mods.  We generally ask that question in a general sense to try to figure out if mods are causing a problem, not to find out the exact mod you're using.  We wouldn't be able to help you if the problem is a specific mod.  However, it's possible that any mod could be causing trouble in your game.  To my knowledge, ghost are supposed to pass through walls.

Like Pam said, I didn't ask you about the specific mod, just if you're using any. Sorry about this. You wrote that it's only happening with your apartment ghosts. Maybe this is causing the problem. Have you tried another saved game and is it all the same way? Other than that, I would like to ask you in which town you're playing? Bridgeport is rather buggy, so are the towns created using Create-a-World.

I don't think appartment ghost can't go through walls, at least not the 'final' wall that is part of the rabit hole, if I descripe that correctly. In my believing they should be able to do that, but it is against the basic terms of the game. Could be that this hasn't been changed since Late Night.
Try contacting EA helpdesk. I asume they know what to do.
