OK, I tried the discuss work; but, since my sim WILL hit the top of her career when she returns to work (seven days off for twins), No DICE! Her boss, actually arrived at her house to chat and it didn't work. Didn't work for me in real life either!

Well, as per what Twallan says:  you have to be less than level 9...so that would imply a career level of 8 or lower (unless I'm misreading it).

By the looks of the coding, the cool down is applied whenever the social animation is successfully completed, regardless of "success" or "failure".

I would go with "yes, the cool down is applied if the request is unsuccessful".  However someone may want to field-test that theory and verify it.

Well, I guess her boss is sucking up to the next Rock Star. The idea is to have her become a rock star; then quit and become a hit move composer; then quit and become a movie star; then quit and become a movie director.

Yeah. Dragon Jade got rejected and has not been able to yet, it hasn't been three days yet but the next day after he asked he was unable to ask again.
