The Copernicus Immortal Dynasty: Hermes vs. Hades (Failed)

Dad had been pestering me lately about having a child. He wants to be a grandfather before he dies.
But he's not the only one bothering me. Mum and Alejandro both insist that I would be a great mother, and I should bring a child into this world.
One day, after he finished work, dad decided to try and persuade me again.


This time I snapped. I yelled at him that I would never bring a child into this family.
I told him that if I keep going with their so called immortal dynasty, we'd all end up being slaves to the underworld.


He just sighed, and looked of to the distance. I started to feel bad.
Although I knew it to be the truth, dad just couldn't see it. It wasn't his fault that he was blinded to the obvious reality.
I gave him a hug, and apologised for yelling.


Everyone in the house has been working on what they love the most. I am now the Principal of the school, and spend much of my time grading school work.
Alejandro wishes to one day be a Sports Superstar, so he spends a lot of his time working out.


Dad is still a World Renowned Surgeon, and works almost everyday, despite the fact that he's over 90!


Grandpa Mercury spends a lot of time in his garden, harvesting plants and playing around in the sprinkler. He's probably the most excitable old man I've ever known.


Uncle Aries spends his time cleaning up the house and doing the laundry. He's getting a bit old now, and decided he wants to hire a maid to help him clean up. He'll then retire back to painting.


Leo paints and sculpts all day. He's a little competitive, and wants to catch up to mums level, and eventually sculpt and paint better than her.
Though, she's a rather good painter, so I don't see that happening anytime soon.


Mum still spends her days painting. She paints one particular painting more than others. She calls it Agnes, and says that it reminds her of her own mother.


Uncle Orion likes to spend his time catching up with his sons - he recently became a grandfather!


He also seemed a little bit happier since we hired that maid. Him and Shara really hit it off, and started going steady.
It seems a bit creepy to me - he's old, and she's young. But I guess it's good that he's found happiness in someone else since Ellen cheated on him all the way back when I was a toddler.


Time seems frozen at the moment. It's get up, do what you do everyday, go to bed. I'm wishing that something exciting will happen soon, to give us all a break from daily life.

Congrats Alejandro and Luna. Grim, stay away from Luna!! And what does she mean she's going to stop Alejandro from reproducing?? No way girl he needs to give you nooboos! Luna, bringing nooboos in is what you're supposed to do! Don't listen to Grim! There is like at least 3 of us and probably more who will gladly kick Grim's butt for you!!

Congrats on getting your man, Luna! Give Luna a few weeks for her mothering instinct to kick in, she only just got married and deals with unruly teens everyday at work. I have faith that her biological clock will kick in sooner or later.

Yes I'm sure Luna will really want one once a spot in her heart is opened and ready for it.  Oh and I'd like to join the Grim beating line heh.  I know a guy that knows special info about grims and he would help us too!

I will join the Grim Bashing Group, I think we should all make sure to miss Artie the Grim from Rica's Dynasty!  I have a Rounders Bat and several large garden implements outside.

When I asked for a break from daily life, losing my dad was never what I wanted.
He had just got the courage to ask me to give him a grandchild again, when he started to float. I was so shocked - all I could do was cry out for mum.


Everyone came running out, and we all surrounded dad and the creepy death man. He begged for just a few more days, for just enough time to see his grandchild, but the cloaked figure would not grant him that wish.


Although I was in shock from losing my dad, I needed to speak to this cloaked figure. Everyone referred to him as the Grim Reaper, but I knew they were wrong. This thing looked nothing like the real Grim Reaper. I approached him cautiously, and asked him who, or what, he was.


He told me to call him Death.
Before I could question him further, my mother interrupted. She told me not to be so foolish as to question whether this cloaked man was in fact the real Grim Reaper. She told me everyone thought of me as ridiculous for ever assuming him to be anything else. And with that, she stormed off.


Although she had yelled some terrible things at me, she was still my mother. I know that if it weren't for Carey, my father, passing away, she would have never said it.
I set out looking for her. It didn't take me long to find her. She was by dad's grave, crying her heart out.


I went up to her and told her that I knew that she didn't mean what she said. I told her that I loved dad, but I also knew that he was her world. I assured her that of the 98 days he lived, he had lived them happily.


I gave her the most comforting hug I could, and convinced her to come home, out of the cold.


That night, Alejandro and I had a discussion. My dad's last conversation  with me, as well as how he begged for a few more days, was playing over and over in my mind.
Maybe they were right. Maybe the Grim I saw wasn't in fact the real Grim. After all, it was only I who saw him.

I talked with Alejandro about it, and he agreed that it was more than likely all in my mind.
We decided that we'd waited too long, and it was time for me to have a child.
If it was all in my mind, then I had nothing to fear of our family falling into slavery in the underworld. Maybe those thoughts were a bit irrational.
Alejandro and I laid in bed, and heard the chimes.


Before I went to sleep, I thanked my dad for helping me to see the light.

Awesome update and I can't wait to see how the nooboo comes out.   Maybe he'll/she'll have some of his Grandpa in him/her.

I was very surprised to find how happy  I was to be carrying a baby. Amongst marrying Alejandro and losing my father, something had changed in me. I now felt ready to really start living life.


I become the Super Intendant of the school, and decided to leave my job. I wanted to spend as much time with my future child as possible.
However, life decided to throw some more pain my way.

I ran to the art room to see Death. He was taking away my uncle Orion.


However, Orion was more than happy to go. He was 89 and his last few weeks were the happiest of his life - he'd found love again, and got to meet his grandchild. He shook hands with Death, and disappeared.


The mood in the house was somber, and we all doubted that things could get worse.
That, we were wrong about.

Death came again, this time claiming Uncle Aries.



Although I had to keep my feelings about the Grim Reaper stealing our souls locked in the back of my mind, I had the creeping feeling that Death was haunting us.
We all needed some measure of happiness. Anything... anything at all.
