I left a tiny bit of pool, but not much. Only because to upgrade the property you need 3 (or was it 4?) pool ladders.
I want to make it my family grave too. I guess it looks a bit odd with deck chairs, but it was silly me that didn't think that through :D
And I put too much effort into decorating to change it now :P

The Graveyard in Twinbrook has pools that look like ponds, with water lilies and such. I say it works! :)

I was walking past Jupiters room, when something made me do a double-take. There was a boy in there.
I cheered on the inside. She'd finally found someone that wasn't that horrible, evil Carey person that kept coming over. I tried to sneak a peek at who at may be, but I couldn't get a good look without making it obvious that I was watching.

I decided it was time that our family packed up and headed overseas. China seemed like a nice place to visit. I gave the travel agency a call.

Mercury: Everyone! We're going to China!
Everyone cheered, including Jupiter's evil friend who was over at the time.
Mercury: Ah.. Carey.. I mean our household, you know. Like a family thing...

He looked awkward; like he was holding something back.
Jupiter stuttered something, and blushed.
Jupiter: Dad.. I kind of asked Carey to move in.
I stared at her, and concentrated on keeping my expression neutral.
Mercury: Well. Okay then... Just so you know Carey, Jupiter has a boyfriend.
Jupiter: Actually, there's something I've been meaning to tell to you dad. I'm engaged.
Mercury: Great! Did you hear that, Carey? She's completely off the market!
Jupiter: Dad... I'm engaged to Carey.

I had to concentrate so hard on acting casual. I congratulated my daughter, while the only thought running through my mind was Spawn of Hades, spawn of Hades, spawn of Hades.
I couldn't believe she was engaged to him.
This evil, hydrophobic, perfectionist. This silly partying kleptomanic.
I mean, I'm a kleptomaniac, but at least I'm not evil.

So it was off to China with the Copernicus' and the spawn of Hades.

Jupiter decided that she wanted to spend her time in China raising her Visa Level by exploring tombs, so her and Aries set off to the Martial Arts Academy to learn how to zeneport in case she ever needed to. I don't know how she'll do in the tombs if she thinks it's a good idea to do martial arts in heels.

Agnes doesn't think the same way as me. She thinks it's great that Jupiter has found someone. She spends her time getting to know him. I won't let her say it, but I think they're friends.

He wasn't the only one Agnes got to know.
Spending our time away from normal life had given us an opportunity to reconnect again. I feel like we fell in love all over again.

We felt young again.

Authors note: Mercury and Agnes actually had the 'My Love!' 20+ moodlet the whole time they were in China. I thought it only appeared after the Sims got married.
Either way, I thought it was really cute.

That's awesome! Congrats Jupiter! I thought it was only for the 2 days of marriage too, that's sweet!

As soon as she had a level 5 in Martial Arts, Jupiter was off on a whole heap of adventures. Carey always followed her around.

When they got back from one of their adventures, Jupiter told me how Carey had helped her move heavy statues, and how he'd explored a dive well for her when she was scared, even though he's hydrophobic.
She sure made him out to be the hero. Agnes told me that I was just being bitter.

One afternoon, after being dragged through a while heap of tombs, Carey approached me.

Carey: Mercury, I think we need to talk.
Mercury: About what?
Carey: About why you don't like me...
I tried to say "What gave you that idea", but the words came out all jumbled.
Carey: I know you don't like me. And you know what, I'm fine with that. I even understand that. But I want you to know that since I've been with Jupiter, my life has completely changed. Yes, I used to be evil, and all I wanted to do was party. But now I feel like I'm so commited to Jupiter, that I'd do anything for her. Anything to be with her. And that's why I wanted to let you know that I'm changing for the better.

I looked at him, and smiled. A real smile. Could it be? The "Spawn of Hades" was turning out good?
He returned the smile, and walked off to find Jupiter.

Over the next couple of days, I noticed that Carey had indeed changed. It was as though he was a whole different person.
Instead of being evil, he was friendly.
Instead of being a party animal, he became family-oriented.
By the way he looked at Jupiter, I discovered he was a true hopeless romantic. Not to mention a workaholic and a genius.
For once, I found myself happy that Jupiter was engaged to this boy.

The two of them were still going out on adventures even towards the very end of our 15 day holiday. I asked them what could possibly make them take that long.
Jupiter showed me Pangus Axe and told me she'd been busy trying to find it.
I was still feeling suspicious though...

On the last day of our holiday, Jupiter told me that she has a Visa Level of 3, and had just purchased our family a holiday house.
It's on a small block, so it's two storeys high. It's just comfortable enough for us all to fit.

As the day ended, we were all sad to leave China. We'd all had so much fun, and had all made plenty of friends.

But that best thing that came out of our trip was the deep understanding that I know felt of Carey.

I have seen the my love moodlet a few times with Naja and Jared. Most of the time after they've had a ton of romantic interactions after not interacting for awhile. Its still cute though.

Are we going to see a new nooboo when they get back from China?

After the wedding, there should be a nooboo (if things go to plan!) :)

TeeHee. I love the mid-life crises that occur before mid-life!

Love the vacation home. Did you do a remodel or build from scratch?

Congrats on the birthdays, engagement, and vacation home.  Boy, Agnes's chin sure does show up on her daughters - kind of like Christopher Steele's lips on his children.  Jupiter is really beautiful and the boys are awesome, too!  Can't wait for wedding pics and then a nooboo!

Thank you all :)

There was no chimes this time. I've never tried for baby overseas, because I'm afraid of bugs. Do you know if there's any bugs associated with it?

I built the holiday house from scratch. I didn't realise how tiny the block was!

And I've noticed with some of the dynasties that Agnes' chin goes all the way through the generations. Looks like this may be the start of another one.

Oh god, I hope not, for both our sakes.  Her long face and high forehead are her least attractive features in my opinion, but her skills and money make those easy to overlook.  Too bad there isn't an option for cosmetic surgery in this game!

Haha! I'm hoping that my heirs keep Mercury's side of the genes :P

On another note, there may not be an update for a little while because:
a. The gallery site seems to be down (at least for me)
b. I've started up my "Write Here, Write Now" challenge (though I guess that'll only take me a couple of days).

Edit: I decided that I'd use photobucket until the system is working again.
