Even though Luna's outburst about "The Grim" was fading into the past, I still kept a close eye on her. She often mumbled to herself, but I brushed that off. Mumbling was better then hallucinations.

One night, I noticed a young man in the house. Leo told me his name was Alejandro, and he went to school with Luna.
I decided to let her have this night without the interference of her mother - after all, they were just dancing.




The next morning, Luna introduced me to Alejandro. Not as a friend, but as her boyfriend. I was surprised, but happy for my daughter.
After that, Alejandro made many more appearances.


I know that most mothers would hate for a boy to be kissing her daughter, or sneaking out to the backyard with her at midnight to cuddle on the park bench. But there were a few things that made it different for me.
For one, since he came into her life, she'd stopped the mumbling to herself. Anything to stop those voices in her head was a good thing to me.
But mostly, I knew what it was like to be in love. When I was a young adult and I had met Carey, my father didn't want us to be together. It was hard on me, trying to make dad come around. I didn't want to put that pressure on my daughter.


For now, I would let them be young and in love - for young love is precious.

Luna and Alejandro are both teenagers. I think it's because on the seat picture, she's got her arm around him, and he's slouching
