With triplets, it all depends if you want GBB or BGG. Go to a doctor and ask the first one's gender. If you want GBB, and the doctor says it's a girl, all you have to do is eat some apples and ask the doctor again, so that he can "lock" the middle triplet's gender as a boy. After it is done, eat some more apples to make sure the third triplet is a boy too. If the doctor says the first gender is one of the par, and not the individual (e.g. you want BGG and the first gender is a girl), the best thing to do is ask the doctor again for the second one's gender. All you have to do then is make the mother eat the specific fruit to change the third one's gender into whatever you want.

Does that 100% work (Locking in child number 2's gender)?

Yes, you lock the gender by asking the doctor.

I realised it worked for the first child, but I didn't even think of it locking in two children.
That's pretty cool that you can choose the gender of all three of the babies.

Congrats Pam :) I had several sets of mixed gender twins when I first started playing Sims 3. I never actually tried to get them. I guess I must of altered the gender of the second by eating watermelon after the first twins gender was decided. Suri and Shiloh are my first set of same gender twins. They are fraternal. Are identical twins possible? Or just really rare? Because I have never had a set in all my years of playing the Sims.

The first set of twins I ever had were mixed gender, so I knew it was possible.  However I didn't think it was possible to actually control it.  Neat info, to be sure.

The gender is decided upon asking the doctor what the baby's gender is. The catch is that, in case of twins and triples, this will lock the first baby's gender, so if the doctor says it's a girl, it will be a girl regardless of how many apples you make your sim mother eat. After the first baby's gender is locked (in this case, girl), you can force the second twin's gender by eating it's specific fruit (apple for boys, watermelon for girls).

With triplets, it all depends if you want GBB or BGG. Go to a doctor and ask the first one's gender. If you want GBB, and the doctor says it's a girl, all you have to do is eat some apples and ask the doctor again, so that he can "lock" the middle triplet's gender as a boy. Thanks for that, Naga.

I don't doubt it works, just not 100%, but nothing ever is.  I just tried that in my new dynasty and it did not work, oh well.  I will try again with another family.  I was kinda hoping for mixed gender twins in my dynasty, but I can live without it, lol. :)

You did the thing with asking the doctor about the gender and then eating the opposite fruit?  Which gender did you get and how much fruit did the mother eat?

First the doctor said it was girl.  So I had the mother eat nothing but apples the rest of her pregnancy.  I had her go to the store and purchase quite a few.  I thought for sure she would have mixed gender twins.  I will try it again.  I know it works, I will just have to hold my mouth right next time, lol. :-\

The only thing I can guess is that maybe she didn't eat quite enough apples.  Mine usually eat around 10 and I always get the gender I want.

Me too Pam! I've not tried the mixed gender twins cause I'm only playing my Dynasty right now, but I always have them eat 10 of the fruit. I've read somewhere that 3-5 do it, but I always do 10 to make sure!

I've seen many times that 3 is what it takes, but that's not nearly enough, for sure.

Success! I did it too. I did it for the Keaton family. First, after woohoo with Marty, I got Justine binging on apples. Then, while she got sick via unknown causes, she had binged on apples some more. Then, I got Geoffrey Langraab to move in via cheats, so he can give Justine medical advice and determine the gender of the baby. Geoffrey said she was having a boy. So then, while playing kids music and watching the kids channel 24/7 during the entire pregnancy like usual, she then binged on watermelons, after Geoffery determined the baby was a boy. Then of course Justine went into labor, and had twins Phil and Lil.

When I'm going for a specific gender, the mother eats nothing but fruit from the moment the baby bells ring right up to the moment she goes into labor.  If she's got a spare moment and her hunger bar isn't totally full, she'll be stuffing an apple or watermelon into her mouth.  ;)

I've managed to get mixed gender twins twice now like this, and one set of mixed gender triplets (two girls, one boy). Sadly, the triplets were in a dynasty attempt. Thanks!

That's always worked for me. I personally don't think that three influences the gender very much. :)

It's a bit late to say this really, but those twins are really cute Pam!  ;D
