Welcome to the forum Durei. This is a great place to discuss and share your experiences with Sims 3!

We actually have a topic about Mixed Gender Twins. It was started over a year ago by our very own administrator herself, Pam, and many of our forum members have discussed evidence that the Pets Patch may have increased the chances of Mixed Gender Twins. You can discuss it here.

Hope you enjoy this forum.  :)

Thank you Jeanamariex3! Unfortunately I noticed the topic after I posted my own. I had searched for something about it back in November when my sims first had the children (I haven't played since then), but I'm just now getting around to posting about it since I'm playing again with the expansions I got for Christmas :) There wasn't much when I first searched and I posted this thread in my impatience. I'm a little sad that they upped the chances, I thought I had hit the rarity jackpot xD.

I just got mixed gender twins and I did nothing. In fact I had my Sim eat apples after WooHooing. She had a girl and boy, the mother is Agnes Grier (Crumplebottom), the father is a man named Dion Grier. She did have the fertility treatment, but I did nothing else. I can't believe it, I wasn't expecting that. She never touched watermelon at all, I never asked the doctor the gender of her baby, mainly because I thought she was going to have a boy, or boys. ;D

I bought the fertility treatment for one of my sims and had her eat lots of watermelon in hopes of getting a girl. She had a boy and a girl. :)

Another one of my couples had a set of mixed gender twins while I wasn't even playing them.

That patch definitely did something exciting lol. I was playing a file last night, not my clone or dynasty, and Cornelia had a boy and girl twins while I wasn't controlling her, also my woman had a boy and girl twins when I didn't have her go to the doctor, plus she ate no fruit whatsoever!!

I just had mixed gender triplets in my decadynasty game. It was in a household I wasn't controlling. The mother of the babies was one of my controlled Sims girlfriend.

I recently got a pair of mixed gender twins for Christopher Steel and Bebe Hart.  I have been trying to take pics to put up but don't know how to or upload them.

It really looks like mixed gender twins and triplets are now very common in the game.  We no longer have to go through the doctor visit and eating opposite fruit to get them.  Now I wonder if we'll be using that trick to get the same gender.  It appears that eating the fruit only influences one of the babies and the second one is still random.

Wouldn't we still have to through the visit to the doctor to guarantee mixed gender twins or triplets.

Mixed gender seems to be more likely through the fertility treatment but if you weren't using the fertility treatment the doctor way is still probably useful.

Had the fertility treatment on the mother and she ended up with same gender triplets. I did not want triplets! Twins would be Ok; but, triplets are a hassle (can't go to the library to read to them, because there are too many).
Off topic: why don't they have strollers that handle more than one child?

In my 100 Baby Challenge. I had my pregnant sim (she has fertility treatment) watch kids TV for 3 sim hours, I then had her visit Geoffery Landgraab and he determined the gender of the baby.
The thought bubble said a little girl. I bought ten apples and ate one every hour. When my sim gave birth I was very surprised that my sim gav birth to mixed gender triplets.  :)
