Bar food recipes

I was understanding from somewhere that it was possible to learn the various bar food recipes in late night like hot wings, nachos and onion rings; however, I have yet to find a way to learn any of them is it connected with mixology? I've been plumbing the site and forums for a while this afternoon but haven't located anything so far.

Is it possible to learn this or am I misinformed?

If I'm correct, you can learn any and all recipes by watching the culinary channel in the TV. Not sure if there are recipe books for those you mentioned.

I haven't seen any recipe books for those foods either, and I think I'll have to have my sims watch the culinary channel to test that theory as I would love them being able to make some of the bar foods.

I know you can't learn the new LN foods by buying books. However I did hear the rumour that you may learn them through the TV. Although where I read that or when is anybody's guess!

I have learned them by trading kitchen secrets and eating the food at bars.

Learning from the TV may take really long, too, so perhaps going over to the bar and tasting the food over and over is easier.

I wasn't going to reply because I'm not 100% sure, but I think my sim learned the cheese plate recipe from a bar. The simmy didn't know how to make it, then VOILA! After she ordered it, it was in her list of recipes known.

I really doubt that we can learn onion rings and hot wings, because when you learn all the recipes, and it says 100% in the skill journal, my sims still cant make onion rings. I bet it will come in the next expansion!

Or maybe it is just another skill journal update that they missed, like with the Collection one; You would only have to collect the base game's bettles to get the 100% beetles challenge completed, and anything more than that was just a bonus.

The reason sims can learn cheese plate is because it is one of the recipes from France.  As for the other bar dishes, I no longer have LN, but from everything I've read, it doesn't appear those are recipes that sims can learn to make at home.
