How to place a stove at the Firestation?
« on: January 26, 2011, 10:04:42 AM »
I saw there was a stove at the firestation and decided to replace it with a better one now my sim is actually 'living' there, sort of. But the building type doesn't allow me to place one, though there is one already. EA should have used a trick for that. Anyone aware of what cheat they've used? MoveObjects on with the druplet doesn't work. It only copies the already placed stove. Changing the lot type to something else, placing a stove, and changing it back to Firestation doesn't work either.

I'm not sure how they placed it.  But just thought I'd point out that upgrading it is totally unnecessary since your sims can't use it anyway.  The only thing that your sims can make at the fire station are quick meals.

Stoves aren't allowed on community lots.

Well, to change a Fireman's diet we could place a diner table. I mean that fancy one which you normally places at parties, where you can buy food for: $250,- for a full table.

Maybe if you change lot type to residential, add what you want and change it back to commercial? That's how I made comunity garden since planting is not aloud on comunity lots.

That works indeed sweet with plants, but with stoves it doesn't work that way. I've tried that. I just got a message that some items needs to be replaced or completely left out.

Will RestrictBuildBuyInBuildings true open up that possibility?

Oh, sweet irony, deliver me from coincidence.

Please feel free to utilize any of my builds in any of your stories and so forth.

Nop, even that won't work. Although I had some hope and tried it. :P To bad.

Did you try testingcheatsenabled true + moveObjects on + RestrictBuildBuyInBuildings false at the same time, and in this order?
