Real life paintings in The Sims 3
« on: January 24, 2011, 05:25:00 PM »
I am looking for a list of all the different paintings that a sim can paint himself and what the painting is reffering to. Some of them are actually 'based' on true paintings and I want to know which one. I have searched Google but couldn't succeed. I am willing to add a painting museum in my upcoming Millionairs Mansion, but I need to know how big the space is going to be that I will need for it.
i already know that the 'Mona Lisa' is here and also 'Het Meisje Met De Parel' (The Girl With The Pearl) but I am looking for the other ones also. Please help me fill this list:

Mona Lisa
The Girl With The Pearl
Social Rabbit (Easter Egg)
Spore (Easter Egg)
A Sunday on La Grande Jatte, Georges Seurat, 1884
The Birth Of Venus

The Birth of Venus by Botticelli: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Birth_of_Venus_%28Botticelli%29

That's all I can remember off the top of my head.

Oh, sweet irony, deliver me from coincidence.

Please feel free to utilize any of my builds in any of your stories and so forth.

I have seen the sim painting posted on another thread, but none of my sims have ever painted it before.

It's by Van Gogh, Starry Night over the Rhone.

That's interesting. I've also never saw that picture in the game, although I know kind of his painting style. Vincent van Gogh is very famous because of that picture (amom many others. :P)
Can you post an example of the picture ingame as soon as you see it? Than I can add it to the list.

I guess what you really need is someone who knows art history to have a look at Anushka's painting collection. I'm only just starting to learn art history, but I might have a look sometime (I have yet to download it).

Leto, in the thread "pictures sims have painted", on page 1, 4 and 8, there is a few paintings that might be of interest.  I know nothing about paintings, but if you look through the thread, there are some interesting replies and links to paintings that members have put in there.  I hope that helps.  Page 1 is the painting that is mentioned above, I believe. :)
Is it true that cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?

Salty is right Leto. That specific painting is in the 'pictures that sims have painted' thread. I will post a pic when my sim paints it. There is also another one I thought of, which is based off of the painting 'A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte' by Georges Pierre-Seraut. I have a screenshot of it somewhere on my desktop.

Here is a link:
