Erm, better late than never, but you don't need to be a YA to travel abroad.  Children can travel providing they're with at least a teen or older and teens can travel on their own, and only a teen or older can purchase the camera.  After that you can go around town both at home and abroad and go snappy-happy.  Vampire sim children if you have LN can learn max photography skill from 1 photo literally if they go to a monumental building after 6pm and take a photo of it.

If you'll look again at the first post, you'll see that the poster is doing the Immortal Dynasty Challenge.  That's the reason for the restriction on traveling until the second generation is a Young Adult.

Oh...didn't know that.  Then in that case you're pretty much stuck unless you use buydebug to buy the camera.  I don't think the standard grocery sells them.

You can sometimes find a camera in the consignment store, but you've got to be lucky.
