Vanilla - Can't find a deathfish!
« on: December 15, 2009, 08:44:10 PM »
Hi there, I am trying to fufill one of my sim's wishes to catch every fish...and I have caught all but one, the deathfish. Can't find the blimmin thing for the life of me! I am using Angelfish for bait, like they suggest, and have got the collection helper turned on to show me all the fish spots.
I am playing vanilla sims3, in Riverview. Can someone help me??

I honestly don't know if Deathfish are in Riverview. In Sunset Valley you can only catch Deathfish at the Graveyard pond in the middle of the night. So, if there's a pond at the Graveyard in Riverview, try that first.

The Deathfish in Riverview is behind the cemetery at the No Fishing Sign on the river and is only available between the hours of Midnight and 5 am.  Good luck!

Just confirming what wildredchild said.  Also, you'll see a cloud over the water in the exact Deathfish spot when midnight comes.  Click on the cloud and you should have no problem catching one.

Also, an FYI....I don't think they come out every night. I know I had my sim at the graveyard three nights in a row before that strange cloud finally appeared over the water and she was able to catch one. (caught about 5 that night actually!)

I've made a lot of trips to the cemetary and have never failed to see the cloud on the water.  Are you sure you were looking for it between midnight and 4:00 a.m.?

Yep Pam. Now I'm playing a new sim and she saw the cloud and caught a death fish on her first trip to the graveyard, but with my other sim, it took several nights for it to appear. It was on the 3rd night that she finally got it. And she did have maxed out fishing skill and had plenty of angel fish in her inventory, so it didn't have to do with that.

Never ceases to amaze me the bugs people experience. I've never failed to see that cloud, glad you got your death fish though. I'm pleased this one is still the most valuable out there. For expansion players I think you can catch them in all three travel graveyards.

I am still fairly new to playing Sims, so may I ask what is "Vanilla?" What does it mean? I tried to google it, but I did not find any clarification. Thanks.

It means the original game, no expansions. I had to ask what it meant too!  :D

There was a night for me that didn't have Deathfish. That happened only once. And yea, the limit from a night is 5.

I've gotten as many as 6 Deathfish in one night.

I can confirm that you can get 6 in one night. I have done this many times with different Sims.
