Serious Error While Loading Save File

So for context, I downloaded TS3 through EA play.

I downloaded the digital copy of TS3 two days ago, trying to boot it up yesterday. Each time I would boot it up, it would load fine. That was until I clicked to start a new save. Each time I would get an error message saying something along the lines of "a serious error has occurred loading [map].map". I decided to try a few more times, no dice. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, same issue. I'm unsure of what to do anymore. I own a physical copy of the game as well, but it's so old and scratched up that my PC won't run it anymore.

I'd greatly appreciate any help, as TS3 is my favorite game of the franchise and miss playing it.

Run the Error Reporter and share the report ID with EA Support or create a new post on answers.ea Sims 3 Tech Help Board.

The Sims 3 Community Managers and Helpers may not able to able to help with account issues, but they can usually get players in contact with someone who can.
